Digital camera reviews of SanDisk Cruzer Titanium 4 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive SDCZ7-4096-A10

Digital camera Review: Cruzer Disk
Summary: 4 Stars

The Flashdrive was in perfect condition, although it was a different model from what I ordered.

Digital camera Review: Cruzer Titanium with U3
Summary: 5 Stars

Our group bought a dozen of these for personal backup and file synchronization. U3 is a fantastic technology, easy to install and use, built in repository access - the only shortcoming is that it doesn't work with Macs or Linux (at least not yet). Plug in the USB stick, and it mounts two drives, one acts like an auto-mounted CD drive and runs the Launchpad, the second is the standard drag and drop disk.

The Launchpad includes access to the drag and drop disk, a variety of U3 applications, easy to use configuration, password protection, and my favourite - an EJECT button (to safely remove the memory stick).

We didn't like most of the bundled software. Cruzersync looks like it works well for synching Outlook and web browser content, but it was very difficult to use for synching data in multiple locations, and the password manager wasn't what we wanted. We replaced these (and removed all the trialware) with Allway "Synch n Go" (fantastic) and RoboForm2Go (also excellent) - both are easy to use, and have free U3 versions. We also kept the Avast Anti-virus, for when you need an external computer scan. The dark horse of the pre-installed software was Skype. At first I didn't see the advantage, until I was on the road using someone else's computer.

At this point the only problem we've had was when U3 detected an update to Launchpad, I selected yes, it saved all of the data, but deleted the installed U3 programs, and when I tried to re-install Avast it said the trial period had expired. Otherwise everything else installed smoothly, and all the configuration settings were retained.

Digital camera Review: CruzerSync software dysfunctional
Summary: 1 Stars

The CruzerSync is intended to synchronize your files between your main computer and the drive, but will work only in simple cases when you do not move or delete your files, and do not need to sync two computers.

If your move your file to a sub-directory (in the same folder) on your main computer, it just deletes it from flash drive. Documentation is non-existent, your have to learn by trial and error.

I hoped to synchronize files between my home and work computer - the software is not designed for that. Crashes every time when trying to install an update.

Digital camera Review: Dangerous device...you can get burned LITERALLY!
Summary: 1 Stars

I just tried to use the new device and on 1st plug in it worked fine. I chose not to autolaunch the U3 program and tried to copy data to it...NOTHING HAPPENED. Unplugged device, reboot system and now it does not even come up AND the drive is VERY HOT TO TOUCH. I am not going to take a chance on injuring myself. I have learned my lesson on buying a FLASHY looking drive. It is not worth it...

Digital camera Review: Disappointed Techie
Summary: 1 Stars

I wish they would have said it was not compatible with windows Vista!
