I have used this 12in1 memory card reader for four years. It still runs well even though I have stuck it into crazy full baggage for many times when I traveled. It is kind of small and easy to carry for a 12-in-1 card reader. Also, I really have to admire San Disk's product quality because this card reader has been used for four years without any problems. The reason that I only gave 4 stars to this product is that it doesn't seem to be compatible with San Disk Extreme III SDHC Card. I was using Smart Media memory card before, and I bought a 8GB San Disk Extreme III SDHC card when I bought a new camera lately. My laptop was dead 30 seconds later when I plugged the SD SDHC card into the reader, and then my laptop was back to normal mode again one minute later; however, the card reader device was automatically removed. I tried a few times, but I couldn't get the card reader to read the SD SDHC card while it worked fine with the Smart Media card. I guess it was because of the version of the card reader is kind of outdated. My smart media card was bought five years ago while this SD SDHC card is kind of new product. I learned that a card reader needed to upgrade too! Overall, I will recommend this card reader because it is fast and has longer life period, but it may not compatible with the newest memory cards.Digital camera Review: AAhhh, a working reader without the hassle

I use the SanDisk 12-in-1, the 5-in1 [SD Media], and primarily the CF readers from SanDisk. I also hate installing useless software unless it is absolutely necessary. However, the files that SanDisk creates when you push the button goes to a folder it creates and installs in My Documents called, ...My Transferred Files. How easy to find them. As photographer, this makes it easy to find the newly transferred files fast. This reader is fast, easy to use, and pleasing to the eye. My only problems would be that the software is pretty much useless to me (not why I took away a star) and the fact that the base is WAY too light in weight. Every time I try to insert a card I have to hold on to the entire unit so it doesn't slide off the desk. This is an amazing little multimemory card reader. I was so confused on which one to get, and spent 3 days trying to figure out the one that would be the best. This is definitely the one to get. AS stated by alot of reviewers, There is no need to install any drivers..This is the best part as it will work on anyone's computer. All you do is plug it in, and it will show up as 4 different drives, because there are 4 different slots in the card reader.. then, all you do is click and drag...The transfer speed is AMAZING!!!! I've never seen anything so fast..It's so much faster then plugging your camera into your computer and then transfering photos through software...It's definitley worth it to take out the card and put it into the sandisk because it transfers photos at incredible speeds. I have had this for a month now, transfered, thousands, yes thousands of pictures.. This is the best investment I have ever made. After Taking pictures for an entire day, I would transfer all the pics to everyone's laptop with ease... A definite must buy!!!!Digital camera Review: An Almost-Perfect Product

This little reader worked perfectly out-of-the-box on all the types of memory cards I have laying around. One very nice feature that doesn't seem to ever be mentioned in the advertising is that the unit can be divorced from the silly "pedestal", and becomes pocket-sized and very light. One fairly serious and very silly flaw is that the USB connector is recessed into a rectangular hole in the case that is just a little bit too small to accept an ordinary USB equipment cable, requiring the use of the included six-inch USB cable that has a connector that sticks out another few millimeters. The case could be cut out to accept a standard cable (I think), but what a dumb mistake in case design! Other than that, it's a great little product.
