I needed a faster writing Compact Flash card for the type of camera I use. One of my photographic techniques is taking Timelapse photography where I am setting a triggering device to take a photo at a rate of 1 or 2 frames a second for extended periods (from several minutes to over an hour) My camera is capable of recording 2 frames/second indefinately if I have a CF card that allows fast write speeds. The Extreme III fit the bill.
My digital Photograph goes back to the early to mid 90's when owning a 128 MEG card was amazing. I remember paying several hundred dollars to own a 512 MEG CF card. Now, to own a very fast 4 GIG card for under $50...What a bargin. I have used many brands of CF cards and always found SanDisk to be very reliable! I can only image in a few years having a 16 GIG card for under $20...don't worry, it's comming... Way to go SanDisk!

I bought this card for my Nikon D70s. The camera came out like in 2006, by that time there were only 512MB compact flash and 3GB microdrive (micro harddrive, very fragile could be easily damaged, and operating condition is very limited, like high altitude or high heat). Well, what I am trying to say is, it works like butter in my D70s although this is a new product with much higher writing and reading speed. It also worked with my HP Pavillion a6000n's cardreader, the download speed is impressive, around 1000 NEF (raw) images took like 3 mins to finish to download to my computer. Also playback on camera lcd or slideshow, there is no noticeable lag, picture after picture runs smoothly. So far i loved this card, I got a better deal from BUYDIG with rebates and it came down to like 35 dollars. But, the one I bought from Amazon arrived just two days later, just one day in advance to a wedding event, great!Digital camera Review: blazing speed
