This product is a great addition to a laptop that does not have a compact flash card slot. It fits snug into a standard PCMCIA slot, and is also compatible with the Windows Vista O/S (packaging does not say it, but it uses a plug-n-play driver). Fast transfer rates, and extremely portable if you want to take it out of the laptop for storing. It does not stick out of the side of the slot, so you can even leave it in the side of the laptop, but you do have to eject it everytime in order to remove the compact flash card from it. After running my camera's battery down transferring 1G of photos into my 3 year-old HP notebook with USB 1.1, it is refreshing to be able to do the same task in a few minutes and still have plenty of juice left in my camera battery (and notebook battery, too).Digital camera Review: It works, but it is SUPER SLOW!

I bought this reader for my laptop since it didn't have USB 2.0.
But to tell you the truth, I think this device is a little slower than USB 1.0! I am going to buy the Lexar 32Bit card and see if that improves the download speed, because this reader is so slow.
It took me about 45min to download 2GB of photos from my Extreme III card. That is unacceptable.

I have a Honda that supports a flash card in the stereo. I just needed an adapter,couldn't find one in town at all. I came across the site when googled the memory card,received it quickly & safe. My laptop does not support a flashcard so I did have to buy a reader/writer. I downloaded all my CD's now I can enjoy all my music. Nice for LONG DRIVES!Digital camera Review: Nice !!!!!!

Good quality product. Works faster than any reader. Readers are painful to carry, plug etc.This is a quite a solution. If you can afford another memory other than the one in your dig cam, this can act as your backup hardrive for important files. that;s how useful this is !!!!
