Digital camera reviews of SanDisk SDMX2-1024 Sansa e140 1 GB Digital Audio Player with SD Expansion Slot

Digital camera Review: Excellent Choice!
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this mp3 player about 3 months ago, and let me say, I am extremely pleased with this product! I got a great deal on it buying from Amazon (about $55 I think). The Sd expansion slot is great as well, allowing me to have up to 3 gigs of music to play on this. The audio quality is important to me and this superseeded my expectations. The included earbuds have tremendous sound and bass clarity. I would reccomend this mp3 player to just about anybody looking for a great quality medium/high capacity auidio player and dosent want to spend the money on an ipod.

Digital camera Review: Excellent buy
Summary: 5 Stars

Bought for my daughter. Excellent sound quality. Easy to put MP3 music on it. Get an extended warranty if you can. Can be a bit delicate. Good buy.

Digital camera Review: Excellent choice
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought the unit from a different website as they had a price break. I too believe there must be different versions out there. I have not had any of the problems mentioned in other reviews except 1. Sometimes response to the fast forward button is slow, other times it is perfect. Overall this unit is awesome. As for the earphones, they are not the best quality (very treble-ly) but they are VERY comfortable and can be worn for a long time without the usual discomfort to the inner ear. I have a nice pair of Sony's so it's not an issue. Just invest in a good headset and you are all set.

Digital camera Review: Excellent flash MP3 player
Summary: 5 Stars

Pros

The SD card slot gives it good expandability. You can add up to anither 2GB, and with 4GB SD cards out, more space might be possibke.

Like all flash players, no moving parts.

Well designed controls. Unlike other people, I REALLY LIKE that the volume knob is hard to rotate. The last thing you want is a sudden huge jump in volume when you accidentally judge the control.

Has FM tuner built in and can be used as a USB hard drive.

Like many flash players, it played songs within an album in alphabetical order, but the firmware upgrade on the Sandisk web sitte fixes this. That they do upgrade the firmware is a good sign.

Price - $99 is the same price as an iPod Shuffle, and this is a much better product.

Supports drag and drop of files (all files, not just music)

Manual is better than most - very detailed description of how to insert the battery, for instance

Using an AAA battery is a BIG plus, rechargeable built-in batteries are expensive and won't let you take the player on vacation or camping without a charger.

Cons

A little bogger than some of the "pack of gum" players, which makes finding a belt clip awkward. Some cell phone cases work.

Som eitems on the screen are in tiny print. The screen, while backlit, is not as bright as some of the newer OLED screens

I haven't rried the included headphones, but they are the in the ear canal type, which is not for everyone.

No FM or voice recording

Overall, I'm very pleased. Great bang for the buck, and Sandisk has a very useful web site, not only the firmwrqe upgrade, but you can download the manual as well.

Digital camera Review: Excellent player
Summary: 5 Stars

Pro: excellent sound, easy navigation, small, no fatal flaws (stopped working once during disconnect; i didn't press off button before disconnect), uses window's music file tag Variables for navigation, navigate on about five variables. you can easily change tag variables with software. windows treat the player as two hardrives. files are simply copied to the drives. non music files can be added to the drives.
Con: software to change tag variable not supplied ( 30 dollars to download good program), after changing a tag varible the change is not always picked up by the player immediately. after a music file has been added to the player it usually picks up all changes.
