Digital camera reviews of SanDisk SDMX2-1024 Sansa e140 1 GB Digital Audio Player with SD Expansion SlotDigital camera Review: Functional and adaptable Summary: 5 Stars
I've never had an IPOD, and I'm told they have excellent sound,
but I think my Sansa is tops for ease of use and adaptability. I like the size and the SD memory slot and the sound is great - not to mention the FM.
Digital camera Review: Good Christmas Present Summary: 3 Stars
My son is very hard to please. The only complaint is that the battery does not last long enough.
Digital camera Review: Good Deal, Good Product Summary: 5 Stars
I am very pleased with the MP3 player. Size, memory, ease of use, all great. The headphones are much more than what I expected. Only critique, the USB cover is already missing. Had it a week and it fell out some where. Attaching that would be an improvement. A number of people have seen mine and want one. Good product for the price.
Digital camera Review: Good PLayer...Only needs a Firmware Upgrade Summary: 4 Stars
Pros:
- Small size and weight
- Very Good Sound Quality
- Very Good FM reception
- Very Good eraphones, very confortables, and good sound quality
- Music can be stored in folders
- It automatically organizes your music if the files have the ID info.
- Good Price to Gb space relation
- You can used it as a file storage unit
In the Middle of both:
- The case design is good, but not the best. It is totally transparent, it is a good protection against scratches, but it reduces the usability of the player. You can not remove the transfer port rubber cover to connect the cable if the case is being used. I can't find yet a logical way to tie the case to my arm.
Cons
- The songs when playing an album are sorted alphabetically. It does not recognize the track number info in the ID file information
- The rubber covers are very easy to loose, they have not been tied to the player.
- Sofware provided does not work for Latin America
Notes:
-I have no used the player with the sd slot
-I do not use Audible files, or Audiobooks or anything like that
Digital camera Review: Good Price But It Has Some Issues Summary: 3 Stars
This player has great features on paper, but there are a couple issues which may or may not be a big deal to you. First of all, the menus are slow to respond when you press a button. You can make several button presses before the device ever reacts to your inputs. This makes it slow to change songs, select albums, etc.
The other issue is actually a confirmed bug in the firmware. For WMA files only (mp3's don't have this problem), if you try to select some songs by genre, only the first letter of the genre appears on the list of genres. For example, if you had some "Rap" WMAs and some "Rock" WMAs, the only genre that would appear in the list of genres is "R", and all rap and rock songs would be listed under "R". Again, mp3's don't have this problem -- only WMA's. But since all of the stores in Windows Media Player sell WMA's, this can be a problem.
I spoke to SanDisk technical support about this issue, and they confirmed that it is a known bug. However, they could not confirm that it would be fixed in a future firmware update. They instead offered to replace my e140 with an m240. However, since the e140 is expandable to 3 GB total (with a 2 GB SD card), and the m240 is not, I don't think this is a fair trade. I haven't decided if I'm going to accept their offer or not.
Buyer beware.
