Digital camera reviews of SanDisk SDSDH-1024-901 1 GB Ultra II Secure Digital Memory Card (Retail Package)

Digital camera Review: 1 GB SD card
Summary: 5 Stars

great card but I will go for the 2 GB Sandisk cards in future

Digital camera Review: 1 GB Ultra II - A gr8 choice for digicam users
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a gr8 buy for people who are using digicams especially the semi-pro ones.. a right balance between a reasonable price and a gr8 value for money. It provides space for more than ample shots in one go without deleting any photos (I have managed close to 300 with 4-5 large (> 8 MB videos) so it is a very good buy and I am satisfied till now with its performance...

Digital camera Review: 1GB Memory Card
Summary: 5 Stars

Just had to have this card for my Kyocera camera.
Now I can take a lot of wonder pictures of nature. etc.

Digital camera Review: 1GB SD, use the extra space anywhere
Summary: 5 Stars

Most modern computers, both laptops and towers, come with a drive that supports multiple types of digital media cards (including Seure Digital). This makes the intergrating process of Secure Digital cards and your computing needs a breeze.

This particular 1gig card has taken a vital role in my computing needs. I use it to store serveral types of things.

1.) Drivers - this card replaced all the cds i used to have to carry around with all of my computer's drivers.

2.) Incremental Backups - because its re-writable its easy to make incremental backups of my homework, forms, records, etc. No more "one time use cds" for this task. I should also note that these cards have a built in "write protection" feature on the side, which prevents accidental modtification of its contents when switched on.

3.) Depending on how your digital camera treats the storage card, you should be able to use the remaining space for recording pictures taken or short video clips. If you're purchasing this card specifically for a digital camera, I can't even imagine how many pictures using 4MP camera would fit in it.

The only shortcoming I have experienced with this card is its slow transfer rate for small files stored in huge quantities. For example, I had a folder holding serveral hundred icons, each about 50kb....thats a lot of files using up very little space each. For these type of files, its best to compress them into an archieve (zip or rar to name a couple of formats) on the PC before sending to the SD card.

Despite this, the card is a 5 star purchase.

Digital camera Review: 2 failed cards ...
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought two cards from Amazon (Sandisk Ultra II 1GB) for use with the Canon S2. For almost 2 months, they were fine -- fast & worked like a charm.
One not-so-fine-day, I got the dreaded "Memory Card Error". The cards can't be read either from the camera or the PC.
I've contacted Sandisk and returned those 2 cards.
Will see how the replacements do ...

.. I'll hold off the judgment on Sandisk Ultra II SD 1GB card, but 2 failed cards doesn't fair very well in my book so far. (My other Sandisk product, the Mini-Cruzer has been working fine for a few years.)

UPDATE: I received the replacements promptly after sending them back. They have been working fine so far (over 4 months), no problem (11/10/06.)
I could've had a couple of lemons !! For the record, I've also had Kingston Elite Pro 2GB and a Sandisk Ultra II 1GB- with USB-connector-- They work like a charm from the first day...
