Digital camera reviews of SanDisk SDSDRX3-8192-A21 8GB Extreme III SDHC Card (Black)

Digital camera Review: Gr8 Memory!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

This card was a steal!!! My Nikon D80 shoots super fast with this card!!! SanDisk makes awesome products!!!

Digital camera Review: Great price for the best of the best
Summary: 5 Stars

After doing research on 8gb SDHC cards, I concluded that this one was rated the best overall, and I was delighted to find it at such a great price from a reputable vendor--unlike some who advertise low priced items only to try to 'bait' you into buying ridiculously over-priced 'accessories'. I have learned to ALWAYS do a web search on the vendor BEFORE ordering from them, regardless off their low prices...like typing in "Ratings on Acme Photo", then reading others' experience with them. Saving $5 or even $50 is not worth dealing with shady characters. A slick web site can be produced by a computer savvy adolescent, so you cannot go by that. You'd better check out their business practices before you give them your credit card number! This vendor proved to be A-OK...no calls with bullying sales pitches, no delays (trumped up 'back-orders' in obvious retaliation for not buying one of their scam items) and very fast service. The only minor flaw was that the packaging was poorly done, but a memory card is in a blister pkg so it wasn't damaged--so I give them 5 stars and would not hesitate to order from them again.

Digital camera Review: works great with Nikon D80
Summary: 5 Stars

Was a bit apprehensive about trying this initially as Nikon recommends cards only up to 4GB, but it works great with my Nikon D80.

I get total of 655 RAW images or 579 RAW+basic jpeg. This card is more expensive than others, but you get what you pay for. Reliability it offers well justifies the price difference. Also, it's fast, and no issues with continuous exposure/burst writes - great performance.

Digital camera Review: discontinued, do not buy
Summary: 1 Stars

The combination of the SDHC and the MicroMate Reader has been discontinued by Sandisk. I had the same experience as the other one star rater. J&R knew it, but I can't believe they still sell it at Amazon. If you ordered it, you would only receive the 8Gb SDHC card. When I emailed J&R, this was what they replied:

"The only thing that is supposed to be included with your order is the memory card. This item does not include the MicroMate reader. There are different items that include the MicroMate reader. However, the prices vary. With Amazon order's we are unable to make any changes to the order, and we are only allowed to exchange for something of the exact price. If you want to exchange for something of a higher price we would need a form of payment."

You have to pay shipping for return, and you are not suppose to open the box. In my case, I opened the box and then realized there was no reader. I ended up negotiating with them and got $5 refund. Very deceiptive seller. Don't understand why Amazon wants to have anything to do with them.

If you really want a SDHC card and a reader, buy them separately.

Digital camera Review: DO NOT ORDER THIS PRODUCT
Summary: 1 Stars

This product is misrepresented on Amazon's website. I have spent hours on the phone with both J&R Computer World and SanDisk (the manufacturer). Apparently, they no longer sell the SDHC card packaged with the reader... which is the only reason why I bought this product in the first place. J&R blamed the issue on SanDisk... SanDisk blamed it on J&R and Amazon... none of the customer service people were helpful and they want me to pay to ship it back.
