Digital camera reviews of SanDisk Sansa Clip 2 GB MP3 Player - BlackDigital camera Review: BOOK LOVERS BUY THIS PLAYER! Summary: 5 Stars
NOTE this REVIEW is for BOOK listener only! BUY the CLIP not the CLIP+!
If you haven't tried the regular CLIP for books, I recommend it. Books, unlike music, average from 5 to 14 hours long. They have to be chopped to 45/60 min files for downloading. These parts do not correspond to chapters. When you stop you may not notice which part number you stopped at. When you restart the CLIP and select your book from the Audiobook folder, it highlights the last part number you were at. When you select that file, it asks you if you want to resume or start from the beginning. Also if you are listening and are interrupted you can pause and restart. If you missed what was being said, due to loud noise or your boss... you can hold down the rewind and go back to the exact spot, even if you were at the beginning of a new file and wanted to rewind to the end of the last file. This scenario happens often when listening to books. That is why the CLIP is so great. It knows the difference between a book part and an individual song when you load the files to the AUDIOBOOK folder!
WARNING !!!
Unlike the original CLIP the CLIP+ treats each Audiobook part as a separate song. If you accidentally fast forward to the next book segment (file) you cannot rewind to the previous part. You can only jump back to the beginning of the previous part and fast forward through the 45 min or 60 mins to the place you want. If you miss this place and fast forward to the next part you have to start all over at the beginning of the previous file.
The tech support does not even know that this is a problem. I was told mine was broken. I exchanged it for a new one and it does the same thing. Even if you create a play list (they recommended that as a solution) it treats each book part as separate song and starts from the beginning of each file. I have tested this against my regular CLIP using the same books and transferred the same way.
SO BUY THE ORIGNAL CLIP WHILE IT LASTS.
By the way, don't use MEDIA PLAYER to transfer, it does not recognize the AUDIOBOOK folder, you have to drag and drop into that folder with your File Manager. If you are using AUDIBLE use the AUDIBLE folder. If you downloaded library books with OVERDRIVE software make sure to transfer to the Audiobook folder.
I am a loyal Sansa fan; I had 2 Sansa Express's and 2 Sansa Clips, but this new CLIP + is such a disappointment!
SANSA why are you ignoring the growing Audiobook market and downgrading a such great product?
Digital camera Review: Bad Product Summary: 1 Stars
I was given this for my birthday. Unfortunately I was out of town for a few weeks. When I got around to getting it out of the box, it was like amonth later so I couldnt send it back. But it doesn't hold a charge. I charge it, and a few hours later it is dead again. It's got nifty features, but I can't use it because its always dead. I'm going to get an MP3 player that takes a battery.
Digital camera Review: Bad Product - Does Not Work At All - Waste of Money Summary: 1 Stars
I originally bought 2 of this product in Sep 2008 to be used as birthday gifts. However, since they did not arrive in time, I decided to use them for Christmas gifts. So, after a frustrating few days, here's where I am: Does not turn off; Gets stuck on "Refresh Database"; Says music folder is EMPTY even after I manage to get music loaded. This is the most awful MP3 player I have encountered. A complete waste of money and time!! Do not buy this product.

I really like the SanDisk Sansa Clip 2 GB MP3 player. However, I do not like the earphones that came with the unit. I cannot keep them in my ears. Can someone please recommend a headset that will work with this MP3 player? I don't want to spend alot of money. HELP.
Digital camera Review: Basic player but great at what is made for. Summary: 4 Stars
I am coming from a Sansa e250 that the headphone jack broke. The clip's music output is much better than that of the e250. Navigation is more cumbersome due to the smaller screen, but with playlists it is ok. Battery life is less than advertised but that is most mp3 players out there. Construction feels solid but then again so did my e250. Price and capacity are just what I was looking for. Very portable and at the gym it feels great since it doesn't get in the way. I recommend it for anyone that wants a simple music player for a great price. Sound quality is rival to those of much higher prices.
