Digital camera Review: A MUST HAVE Summary: 5 Stars
After reading other positive reviews I decided to buy. Everything you've read is true. This thing sounds amazing. It is hands down the best sounding MP3 player I've owned (Archos, IPOD, Mobiblu, & Zune). I listen to it through a pair of Shure SE530's. While it may seem crazy to drive $500 headphones with an $80 player, let me tell you it is justified. Buy one you'll love it.
Digital camera Review: A few hiccups, but overall a great player Summary: 4 Stars
I spent hours upon hours comparing mp3 players before finally buying the 4gb version of the Sansa Clip player a few weeks ago, and decided to try it out for a while before reviewing it. Overall it's a great player for the price range, offering a lot of storage space, an efficient, intuitive interface, and good sound quality. I listen to it mostly through the speakers in my car, which aren't the best, but I've noticed that some of the higher frequencies tend to be kind of sharp and actually a bit painful when the volume is turned up, a problem I never noticed with other players. Also, as some other reviewers have said, the volume does have to be turned up pretty high to get much out of it, which could potentially decrease your running time between recharges. The screen can be hard to see in direct sunlight, as others have pointed out, but I've always been able to just shield it with my hand and see it well enough to make my selections. Finally, I was listening to it while mowing my lawn one day, and the clip actually fell off the player and got lost. However, I e-mailed Sansa's technical support about it, and they promptly sent me a free replacement clip, which is pretty great customer service. Basically, it's got a few hiccups, but if you're looking for a solid player in the less than $100 price range, the Sansa Clip offers the most bang for your buck.
Digital camera Review: A great disappointment ,,,, Summary: 2 Stars
I bought this to be able to listen to audiobooks through NetLibrary. I was able to download and listen to half a book before my certificate for the book expired; but when I renewed the certificate I was unable to play the book. The display shows the book is there, but after a moment or so it turns off.
Prior to this I had a tiny Samsung YEPP YP-F1X, 512 MB, which worked great (and never gave me a hassle about expired certificates!) until it just gave up the ghost after about a year. It had been a refurbished unit which they no longer manufacture, unfortunately. It worked fine with NetLibrary and never gave me any trouble. I have had this Sansa Clip just a couple of months and it already refuses to take or play audiobooks, although it plays radio just fine. I've tried every fix I can, resetting, deleting and reloading, trying to load an audiobook that I own, etc., and it just doesn't work any more for audiobooks.
Very disappointing.
Digital camera Review: A great little mp3 Summary: 5 Stars
I received it about a month ago. It is my first mp3 player. Unfortunately I miscalculated my requirements and I bought a 4 gb, when I needed at least a 16 gb one. Nevertheless the sound is great, even during my morning jogging. Great FM radio reception. I wish it had a shuffle option.
