Digital camera reviews of SanDisk Sansa Fuze 2 GB Video MP3 Player (Black)Digital camera Review: A Good, Good MP3 Player Summary: 4 Stars
The Sandisk Fuze is probably the best MP3 Player, it competes with the ipod and I just love it.
Digital camera Review: A Great MP3 Player Summary: 4 Stars
It's a super product. The only negative is the absence of a clip on the back. At a fraction of th the price charged for IPOD and ZUNE, the SANSZ FUZE is a no brainer.
Digital camera Review: A great player at a great price Summary: 4 Stars
Overall, this is a great player. If I lost mine today I would definitely buy another one.
PROS:
Removable storage (micro-SD cards) allows endless capacity.
Lots of media types supported.
Each format has many features and search options.
Small (smaller than a credit card).
Large screen with a cool interface.
PRO & CON:
The battery is charged through the included USB cable, which is convenient because it charges as you load new music. The bad part is that if you won't be around a computer for a while (say, on a trip) you'll need to buy an AC charger.
CONS:
After loading new music or changing micro-SD cards it takes several minutes to refresh the media before it can be used.
Micro-SD cards are too small to label and difficult to store.
Minimal instructions included.
To detail the pros and cons above, I love being able to load micro-SD cards to extend the storage. An 8-Gig micro-SD card is about $15.00, and will hold roughly 50 hours (approximately 80 CDs) of music ripped at 256 Kbps. Add to that the two Gigs of internal memory and you easily have over 60 hours of music at any given time. I purchased several Micro-SD cards and load each one with a different genre of music so I can change them with my moods. There are a few drawbacks to the micro-SD cards: They are very small (about the size of a man's fingernail) so they are too small to write on, making them difficult to categorize. Storing them is also tricky, because I have yet to find a case made for storing more than one of them.
The player supports MP3, video, photos, FM radio, and voice recording. You can transfer music to the Sansa using Windows Media Player. Average length songs ripped at 256 kbps will transfer at a rate of about 4 seconds per song. The first time you turn on the Sansa Fuse after transferring data it will take about three minutes to recognize the changes you've made. During this time you can only wait while the screen reads "Refreshing your media." It also does this whenever you change a micro-SD card, even if it's one with no changes that the unit has already read before. Aside from those two situations it "boots up" (ready to play) about eight seconds after turning it on.
To load video onto this you have to use Sansa's converter software (downloadable from their website). It's slow, converting and transferring video in one step at a rate of about 4 seconds per megabyte. The end result is good quality video.
Although you can drag and drop photos using Windows Explorer, it's best to convert them using the Sansa software. Otherwise the picture may stretch and distort to fit the screen's resolution. The Sansa software eliminates this, keeping the picture's dimensions consistent.
When playing music you can sort by artist, album, song, genre, top rated, playlists, podcasts, audiobooks, or recordings.
There are also a lot of customization options for system settings. Too many to list, but among them are pre-set tone settings (jazz, rock, hip-hop, etc.) as well as a built-in equalizer for custom tone settings. There are also adjustments for screen brightness, power-saving modes, even the screen's wallpaper color (no option of changing the wallpaper itself though).
I haven't used the voice recorder yet, so I can't comment on that.
Digital camera Review: ANOTHER HANDSOME BLACK BOX Summary: 5 Stars
This is my second SANSA MP3 player. The FUZE is a much better product than the 1GB SANSA CLIP. It feels solid. The screen is amply wide and colorful when turned on. The music reproduction is AWESOME! Once I start listening to this good, SOUL MUSIC on my FUZE, I cannot put it down. I believe that AMAZON said they would stop selling products, with that plastic bubble packaging. AMAZON should keep its promise. That packaging that SANSA sells its products in, is needlessly hard to open. The main problem I have with SANSA though, is that their instruction manuals are written as though, EVERYONE has had experience with an iPOD, or MP3 players. NOT TRUE. I imagine when the iPOD first came to the market, every intricate detail of operation was explained, so that it would sell. I had to ask a young sista to show me how to scroll up and down, using the flywheel. The flywheel is not explained AT ALL in the SANSA instructions. The USB cord that plugs into the FUZE, is very difficult to remove. Despite it all, I LOVE THIS HANDSOME BLACK BOX.
Digital camera Review: Affordable and excellent sound quality Summary: 5 Stars
First, i wanna say thanks to amazon for sending the package so early.
Overall:
overall this mp3 is very good value. It has a lot of features like voice recording, equalizer(normal, rock, pop, jazz, classical, funk, hip hop, dance, full bass, full treble and custom),video, photo, fm radio, settings and music. This mp3 player is sturdy. Don't be fooled by the price, its a good buy and its worth it. Out of all the mp3 players I've had, this is the best because its cheap, its loud, its sturdy and its a high quality product. Hands down this is BETTER than ipod it has more features like a custom equalizer and voice recording and you can change the color of the wallpaper. BETTER yet its half the price or even less.
Sound Quality:
The sound quality is increadable. I had tracks in this mp3 player, that sound really good, on other mp3 players it sounded a little raspy and muffled but on this player its clear. This mp3 player comes with an equalizer(normal, rock, pop, jazz, classical, funk, hip hop, dance, full bass, full treble and custom). I mostly prefer custom.
Video:
I have downloaded 4 videos and they look pretty good to me. On the menu you can make the video brighter or darker, which is very good. To download videos to the sansa fuze you have to download the sansa media converter. The sansa media converter also converts photos to the mp3 player as well. Google: sansa media converter, and you should find it. I don't think anyone could be able to put videos on a sansa fuze if you never used the sansa media converter. I tried to download videos on my own but no avail. So if you want videos on your sansa fuze you have to download the sansa media converter. Before i send a video to the sansa media converter i convert the video to mpeg4 15 fps using free youtube downloader (you can download this at cnet downloads.com <-- just google this)
Photos:
I haven't downloaded my own photos yet, but if you want no issues with downloading photos you should download the sansa media converter.
Voice recording:
the voice recording is pretty easy to use.
Headphones:
This mp3 player came with a pair of good headphones. These headphones are good but i usually change my headphones with the in-ear types. I like silicone headphones because they seal the ear canal, but these headphones are durable and pretty good if you don't mind their shape and if they fit you well.
