Digital camera reviews of SanDisk Sansa Fuze 4 GB Video MP3 Player (Black)

Digital camera Review: Advantage Fuze
Summary: 5 Stars

Before my purchase, I compared the Sansa Fuze with the iPod Nano (3G) and came away thinking the Fuze has a number of advantages. Its very nearly the same size as the Nano but the screen is negligibly smaller. The resolution is also a bit less (220 x 176 vs 320 x 240) but I think it is more than acceptable for most purposes. If you are going to watch a lot of videos you might want to opt for the Nano. Personally, I don't anticipate watching many videos on such a small display. The scroll wheel is also similar to the iPod but has a more tactile feel since it is mechanical and actually moves. Overall, the user interface is very responsive and easy to use. Advertised battery life is virtually identical. Some of the features that pushed me over to the Fuze are: Micro SD card expandable memory; built-in Audio Recording and FM radio; ability to use subscription services; works with MS Media Player; and, of course, significantly lower cost. The only disadvantages I can think of are the much more limited availability of accessories compared to the iPod. At this point I am very happy with the features, build quality and sound quality of the Fuze. I would highly recommend it.

Digital camera Review: After a Year of Use
Summary: 4 Stars

I figured after a year of use I can right a review about this mp3 player. I got my Sansa fuze in February 2009 after my car was broken into and my cheap samsung mp3 player was stolen. I am now looking for a new mp3 player because starting last night the screen goes white, it still plays but I have to turn it off and turn it back on, in order to see the screen. I usually use this in my car with an fm transmitter and in the gym in an arm band. I carry it around in my purse and it is scratched up and the paint on the back is almost gone. In other words I used it daily for the past year and a half. I used it driving from Houston to San Antonio, to and from work, to and from the gym, at the gym, on bike rides and 3 hour walks. I also have used the head phone hole to hook it up to a stereo I have and play it in the house. I use the usb to recharge it either on my desktop computer or my laptop when I go out of town.

Pro:
Drag and drop feature
Easy to scroll through songs
Plenty of memory
Battery life
Durable
not forced to download software

Con:
It sometimes goes white when charging (website tells you how to reset)
Takes forever to delete a song on the mp3 player

All in all this mp3 player did its job and worked well. I would buy another one but I am hoping that Sony S544 will be better. I have a couple videos and about 1,000 songs on my mp3 player, yet it still has space for more. I used the voice recorder once just to see if it works and it does; but I didn't buy it for that. I use the golist for songs to use in the gym and I also rate my songs because you can also play the top rated songs as an option.

I guess if you are lucky to get one that doesn't have issues then you will be extremely happy. The drag and drop feature is my favorite. I didn't need any additional info and I haven't had to worry about updating it like my last player. I did not install any software and was happy about that because with the samsung mp3 I could not use it without the software and when that wouldn't work because I did not have internet neither did the mp3 player. However, not with my Sansa. I was still able to copy and paste songs from my computer even though I didn't have internet. If only we could rate internet providers. :/

If you want an easy to use mp3 player for music this will work for you. If the S544 doesn't work I will definitely get another one.

Digital camera Review: All around good choice
Summary: 5 Stars

Best value and performs well and is easy to use. Make sure you have a cover it will scratch.

Digital camera Review: Amazing MP3 Player!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this Sansa for Christmas for my 12-year-old daughter. She previously had the entry-level ipod, which she liked but inexplicably stopped charging. Anyway, she LOVED this little Sansa from the moment she opened it -- it's cool looking, easy to use, easy to download music to (don't get me started on itunes!) and she and it were inseparable for five months now. Then last week I noticed she was not using it and asked where it was; she was reluctant to say which was when I knew something was up. The next day, she came to me and sheepishly admitted she had been bad -- she found that the Sansa had gone through the washer (AND DRYER!) in her jeans pocket! I told her I was not replacing it; there were stern discussions of responsibility. But to my amazement, she turned it on and it worked perfectly! I think I need to tell Sansa -- this little guy is so worth every penny! Tough enough to go through the wash and keep on playing! Wow!

UPDATE: As of the end of August, this little player is still going strong! I cannot recommend this product enough.

Digital camera Review: Amazing device, way better than iPod
Summary: 5 Stars

I recently bought this Sansa Fuze 4gb (Black) model off of Amazon.com, and I love it! It was only about fifty dollars (although the price keeps going up and down.) You could buy 4 of these for the price of 1 iPod Nano or Classic or Touch or whatever the crap they have out now.
First off, this is an amazing product and Sansa and SanDisk are really good brands.

This device is very easy to use, and anyone can figure it out. If you want to put videos on it, you have to make sure you have the Sansa Media Converter, which you can download from their website, and then its really easy to put anything on the device. I got the black model and it looks so sleek and really cool. One thing for those of you have fingerprint issues...they show up quite well on the black model. If you don't like to see fingerprints (I just use a cloth and wipe it off every day) then I suggest getting a different color. My brother got one in blue and you cannot see any fingerprints.

It seems very well put together, and after a while you get used to the "mechanical" click wheel feel on this thing. I honestly perfer it over the wheel that iPods use...because on this you can tell where you are going. Its fun to use to!!!

I had owned a 2gb Sansa Clip for the longest time, but just recently I ran out of space. I wanted to get something that had more space and something that had a bigger screen and something that could play videos and audio books and had recordable radio and a voice recorder. I was looking around for a while mainly at Zunes and iPods, but they were very expensive and I didn't want to use iTunes, and I didnt really like the layout of the Zunes. One of the biggest reasons that I went with the Sansa Fuze was the expandable memory.
I got an 8gb micro sd card for it, and it works PERFECTLY with it. I love how I can continue to expand my storage. It was also VERY cheap but has all the features and more that an iPod does. iPods are just BARELY including FM Radio on their devices, these things have had it for a while.

It plays videos really nicely on it, and the screen is really nice. I have had no problems with it connecting to my computer or charging or putting anything on it. Its super portable and I can take it anywhere.

The sound quality on this is also amazing. You can create your own custom EQ which I really enjoy.

One thing I haven't been able to figure out is to have the album cover of the music you are listening to appear full screen on the screen (or if this device even has this function.)
This device works seamlesly with Windows Media Player as well. I plug in the device, click on the Sync tab, and I can choose wether I want to drag the songs onto the device or the micro sd card! It shows you the available space left too.

Great device!!!!!

I recommend this to anyone looking for a great mp3 player.
