Digital camera reviews of SanDisk Sansa Fuze 4 GB Video MP3 Player (Blue)Digital camera Review: Fuse SanDisk Summary: 5 Stars
We bought it for a long plane ride to China. It was easy to load songs that we had on the computer and from CD's.
It was wonderful on the trip.
Digital camera Review: Fuses Value with Style Summary: 5 Stars
Cons
* If you add or remove content on your Fuze with a computer, you may have to wait, depending on the amount of content on your Fuze, a few minutes for the Fuze's database to refresh.
* For songs loaded onto an external card, the song ratings are lost following a database refresh.
* Cannot load a picture to use as wallpaper.
* I was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality of the supplied earbuds, but you should still upgrade to something better if you care about sound quality.
Pros
* Excellent sound quality.
* Easy to use.
* Selectable between Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) mode or Mass Storage Class (MSC) mode, so the Fuze should be compatible right out of the box with just about every modern home computer. Syncs with a wide variety of media players or just copy-and-paste your music.
* You can expand the memory by an additional 32 GB--about 29.8 GiB.
* Not as stylish as some Samsung or Apple MP3 players, but much better than previous ugly SanDisk MP3 players.
* Can browse by folders and files.
* Is heavy enough so that it does not feel like it came out of a cereal box.
* Seven seconds to boot.
* Has an FM-radio tuner and a built-in microphone for voice recordings. You can also record from the radio.
* Displays and allows editing of song ratings.
* You can, while the song is playing, display the album art, name of the artist, album name, genre, size of the file, codec, bit rate, whether the bit rate is a constant bit rate or a variable bit rate, etc.
* Can browse by most-recently-added songs.
* Gives remaining battery life as a percentage.
* Free open-source firmware is available--Rockbox.
* Supports Replay Gain.
* Has a five-band equalizer.
The actual amount of usable memory is about 3.53 GiB. Four-and-a-half stars.

Digital camera Review: Get an Ipod Summary: 3 Stars
I have had several different mp3 players, and I have to say just get an Ipod. I bought the Fuse for my mom for Christmas last year and it was not the easiest thing to get music on to her Fuse. Downloading the updates for the Rhapsody software was a huge pain and had to be done before we could even get started. My mom lives out in the country and doesn't have DSL or a cable internet, good ole dial up! The software in my opinion should have been ready to use right from the box. I should have been able to put the software on her computer, move the music to the Fuse and be done with it. So basically it isn't the device that is a pain, it is the software. Once I got all of the updates needed to get started I was able to move music around fairly easy between Itunes and Rhapsody. So for the price I guess it is ok, but not as user friendly as the Ipod.
Digital camera Review: Good little MP3 player Summary: 5 Stars
Update: It's been awhile now and I am very impressed with this little MP3 player. I recently discovered, from searching on the web, that there is an easier way for me to load music and create playlists on the player besides syncing with a media player. I reformatted my player and used the drag-drop method to load the music into the music folder using windows explorer. Then, holding down ctrl, I clicked each song I wanted in a playlist and when they were all highlighted, right clicked and selected "Create Playlist". Named the play list what I wanted then repeated the process until each playlist I wanted was created. Worked like a charm. Much quicker and easier than syncing, at least for me.
I just received this product today so I'll be coming back in a couple months to update. I have one other MP3 player, a Coby MP620-4GB that I can compare this Sandisk Sansa Fuze with.
I purchased the Sandisk Sansa Fuze because the Coby MP620-4GB I already own has some glitches I find hard to deal with.
So far, here are the PROs and Cons I can see:
Pro:
Small, Compact, solid construction, more so than the Coby, though I don't have any complaints about the Coby's size.
The Sansa Fuze turns on and off much more quickly and I find the scroll wheel a nice touch compared to just the click up down or to the side method the Coby uses.
The Sansa can be synced to Windows Media Player though there is a learning curve to doing that. I didn't unclick what I didn't want Media Player to sync and found it syncing everything including my pictures and videos so I had to stop it and delete all the files it put on my MP3 player I didn't want. I only wanted the songs and play lists right now. Coby only has 1 play list that can be created and it doesn't always seem to work.
The price of the Sansa Fuze is decent, a little more expensive than the Coby but with the better features and construction I won't complain.
I can't comment on pictures, audio books or video yet. I will do that in the future.
Con: Really nothing except the instructions I downloaded from Sandisk could have been more comprehensive about syncing the MP3 player with Windows Media Player. I haven't figured out if you can add songs to existing play lists yet right on the player, it's looking like that might be a no which will be a con.
I'll come back later to comment once I've learned all of the features of this player.
