Bought this as a gift for my 8 year old g-daughter; not old enough for a Ipod, too big for a doggie type radio.
She takes it on walks with her G-pa, or long rides in the car.
Now we don't have to listen to Kid Bop #10000.

This item was a favorite Christmas present with my kids, 8 year old girls. A bit smaller than I thought it would be, but has surprisingly good sound quality for it's size. My kids love taking it around the house with them and listening to their favorite songs. Easy to use controls that the kids can operate and fun features, like shaking to change songs and cool sound effects. The only problem we had was figuring out which songs (and format, MP3) we could download (itunes wouldn't work for us). Otherwise it was easy to hook it up to the computer for downloading. My 9-year-old daughter saved up her allowance, and after several weeks of researching and pondering printed-out photos, she settled on and ordered this little MP3 player. It's fantastic. Easy to work, and smaller than I expected. It fits easily in her bookbag, so she can listen to it when waiting in the carpool lane after school. The built-in speaker is a HUGE plus, and has pretty good sound, really, for such a little thing ... definitely better than my laptop speaker, which is what I was expecting.Digital camera Review: Great little player

I bought this for our daughter and myself when we're outside player, so we can have a little music. LOVE the built in speaker, don't why they don't all offer that.
It's very simple to use.
Cons:
You just have a straight string of music (so you can't make folders, like kids songs, dance, me alone music). But that's fine for what we wanted it for.
It didn't have a radio. I assummed they all had one and didn't think to check.
But overall, I think it's a great product. I love the shape and size. It's easy to carry around.
