Digital camera reviews of SanDisk Sansa e280 8 GB MP3 Player (Black)Digital camera Review: A gift that's worth it Summary: 4 Stars
I bought the Sandisk Sansa e280 for my partner because his other mp3 player (not Sansa) couldn't be recognized by Window's Vista. The Sansa he just plugged and played. I uploaded his library that I had on my external hard drive so he didn't have to do much, just explore all the wonderful features. What he really likes is that there is a radio on this mp3. Furthermore, you can expand the memory on it by using the micro sd slot on the side (I got him a 2G to place videos and photos on the card). It's an excellent buy AND you don't have to use iTunes!
Digital camera Review: A great alternative Summary: 4 Stars
Very nice choice if you're not interested in the Ipod bandwagon. Great product, affordable, fun to use.
Digital camera Review: A great idea, but horribly executed. Summary: 2 Stars
1. The mechanical scroll wheel on this unit is hard to maneuver. One cannot make a full circle without readjusting, taking off and repositioning, the finger because the wheel is not very smooth, so it constantly stops when too much, or too little, pressure is applied. Which in turn makes it very difficult to quickly scroll through thousands of albums or songs or artists in search of that one particular file. The wheel itself has grip marks that feel very harsh on one's finger.
2. System noise, a concept unfamiliar to I-Pod owners, can clearly be heard when starting a new song. It's an annoying surge like sound heard in the earpiece. A clear indicator that the unit lacks proper electronic refinement.
3. The FM tuner is useful yet one cannot scroll through presets. You have to select the preset from a separate list of presets rather then from the main tuner screen.
4. The center button feels like a cheap and loose piece of "about to fall out" plastic.
5. The 4 buttons outside the wheel are too close to the wheel itself. The wheel is elevated a bit and unless you use your nails, or have very thin, super thin, fingers, it is hard to push the button without pushing the wheel. Basically, the buttons are too close to the wheel and are both too narrow and non-responsive to normal pressure. You will need both hands to get it right.
6. Takes too long to start-up because of the refresh feature. The unit refreshes its memory every time it starts while there is a memory chip inserted.
7. The video feature works well, but a separate conversion process is required before videos can be viewed.
8. The earphones are the kind you get on cheap flights.
9. The screen is prone to rainbow effects.

SanDisk Sansa e280 8 GB MP3 Player (Black)
This little music player cost me half the price of a Zune with that amount of storage space. I find it easy to navigate. It has a pretty good battery life and so far I am most pleased with this.
I found all the features easy to learn and easy to use. It's nice and portable to hold 8 gbs of space. In a nutshell, I love it!

this is a great mp3 player> i suggest if you get this to look for Rockbox software to load onto it, this will give you the ability to play just about any media natively.
