Digital camera reviews of SanDisk Sansa m230 512 MB MP3 Player (Blue)Digital camera Review: Buy This MP3 Player For Starters Summary: 5 Stars
I will buy an IPOD in due time, but for right now, the SanDisk Sansa is the perfect one start off with. I didn't want to spend a lot of money for an item I never use before. I just want to listen to music without carrying cds/cd player and the fancy stuff (examples: video viewing; combination cell phone).
The MP3 is easy to program your music (make sure you have Windows XP on your desktop [computer] or laptop). This player is also a recorder and has FM radio. The items that come with this are instruction booklet, mini cd to set-up on computer system (I was able to program music without this cd), plastic cover, velco strip clip-on, earphones, and the connection cord (USB).
Simple and basic, this is the one (PS because the SanDisk Sansa doesn't look expensive, pickpockets and theives are not trying to to steal it like an IPOD).
Digital camera Review: Can't go wrong for the price Summary: 5 Stars
For the price, you just can't go wrong. Works with all the audio formats I use, wma and mp3. I use Yahoo music and anything I buy on there works fine. For the price, it's hard to see how anyone can go wrong with this.
Digital camera Review: Cheap and satisfactory Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this thing for like $20 and though it doesn't hold much music it is perfectly sufficient for the cost. I bought it mainly just to have some music for a 3-month long trip living in the middle of nowhere. It worked perfectly well and the battery lasted as long as one might expect in my opinion. Good buy.
Digital camera Review: Cheap, basic, great sound. Summary: 4 Stars
Bought 4 of these for me and my kids 3 and a half years ago. They are very basic but have great sound quality. Battery life could be better but not too bad. Just a couple months ago two of our units finally started to have problems when connecting through USB. One was left frozen, the other eventually worked out. My kids have loved them and used them a ton. I paid $22 each three years ago. Remarkably they are more expensive now for some reason. They have taken lots of abuse so for only one of four to be out of commission three and a half years later, I'd say that is a win.
I am replacing them with new Sandisk 4 Gig Fuze Video MP3 players with accessories and an additional 4 Gig Micro SDHC card for about $65 total each. Sandisk has been great for us so I am staying with them.
Digital camera Review: Complete Review from Pros to Cons to Why I bought it. Summary: 4 Stars
I will begin with the pros; excellent value, compact design, great sound fidelity, intuitive menus, and ability to play music by album, artist, or a single song.
Now the cons; battery life - 1 AAA Duracell Alkaline battery seems to last for about 12 hours (for me). I have a job where I destroy electronics, then sit at a computer and write reports about it. I listen to my mp3 while doing that for eight hours straight, so I change my battery about every day and a half. There is also this strange 'glitch' where the player locks up (literally). I have to pull the battery to get it out of this state. This is the main reason why I give this player a "4" instead of a "5". Finally, and I realize this is probably nothing to most of you, but why on earth did they decide on the color white for the foam earphone covers? I have had this mp3 player about 4 weeks and the white foam is more gray than white any more.
Why did I buy this mp3 palyer? I bought this mp3 player because I was not sure if I wanted an mp3 player or not. 'Would I really use it', 'Do I really listen to a lot of music', and 'Do I have a large enough music library to justify the cost' are some of the questions that ran through my mind. Generally, I'm the kind of person that buys the things I buy because I either need it, or I will get some amount of pleasure out of owning it. I did not want to spend a lot of money on an mp3 player if I was not going to use it, but I needed to see what the 'mp3 culture' fuss was all about too.
Well, as you just read, I use it for eight hours straight. I do listen to more music than I thought, and it turns out that I had a larger music library than I thought. I bought this model because of its price, so when I got it home and filled it up with my music choices, I found that I could only get 123 songs loaded on it. That gets almost every Primus album, The Wall, and most of Wish You Were Here on it. I still have plenty of Floyd albums, and other Claypool albums, and other artists I want to listen to througout the day, so I will be purchasing another mp3 player with more capacity. I will stick with the SanDisk on the next purchase.
