Digital camera reviews of SanDisk Sansa m240 1 GB MP3 Player (Silver)

Digital camera Review: 2nd one of these, works great.
Summary: 5 Stars

I had to finally replace my first one after 4 years because the hold button broke. I used this thing in the cold, heat, in a machine shop, running, and anywhere else I could bring it. This thing takes abuse and continues to go!

Those with the freeze issue -- there are some issues with older firmware that I had the first few months with my old one. Just make sure to update it right away, and no problems from there.

One of my favorite features is the resume feature. I listen to some podcasts that are an hour or more long -- so it's nice to be able to shut it off in the middle of one and when I turn it on ir resumes at the point I shut it off.

Great product, great price.

Digital camera Review: 5 Reasons why SanDisk MP3 is better than the iPod
Summary: 4 Stars

I evaluated MP3 players for a while - and at $45 this Sansa M240 player was a steal! The iPod certainly has its advantages (and a ton of marketing!), but here are the top 5 reasons why I prefer this MP3 player:

1) FM Stereo - can program upto 20 channels - iPod does not!
2) Rip songs from any CD
3) Load songs in about ANY format (MP3, WMA, etc)
4) Buy/download songs from FREE from any MP3 website (iTunes??)
5) AAA battery - can buy it anywhere - no need for special charger!
6) Portable - I can play this in the car with a CD adapter - the iPod needs a special contraption ($$$) to play in the car stereo....

okay, so maybe 6 reasons.......

Digital camera Review: A Bad Product
Summary: 1 Stars

After a few days, the player freeze, and unusable. I look up the reviews in the internet. Turned out that a lot of other people have the same problem. I have to return it. My advice: DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT! It has an inherent defect in the hardware.

Digital camera Review: A Bit Touchy
Summary: 3 Stars

Physically, the device itself is fine. The headphones are adequate, if not stellar, and the armband, while kind of cheap, gets the job done. The menus are pretty basic, and with good sound, the m240 is pretty decent overall. However, software problems are an issue. The device comes with an advertisement for three free Audible audiobook downloads, but when I tried to upload them to the device, problems started. Most of the time, AudibleManager wouldn't recognize the m240, but when it finally did, it wouldn't upload the files. I tried to upgrade the firmware, only to find the device refused to turn on. I called SanDisk, and they said that this was a known problem and that I needed to go back to the store to exchange it!

In short: if you can get it running, it seems to be pretty okay, but it's awfully touchy if you try to get fancy with it.

Digital camera Review: A Few Flaws
Summary: 3 Stars

This is a two-fold review of the SanDisk Sansa M240 MP3 Player. The main fault(s) of the MP3 Player is the static level when listening to FM radio. The earbuds are slightly large, causing discomfort if you're listening to music for some length of time. No clip on the carrying case or the player itself. There's a velcro belt but it's not very useful. The lighting on the screen is difficult, even after adjusting the settings, especially if you're not in the natural outdoor light. The sound is pretty good - considering the size.

The product arrived without a manual. I was eventually able to copy music from my computer to the device by the "sync" method, although, without a manual, it took many hours to copy 53 songs onto the device. I would now like to edit my listing of music (remove some of the selections), but since there's no manual, can't figure out how to get them off the player). That's the fault of the company I ordered through (3BTech...or something like that). I've emailed this company two times, asking for a manual, and I've gotten no response as of yet.
