Digital camera reviews of SanDisk ULTRA SDHC 8GB Class 4 Flash Memory Card SDSDRH-008G-A11

Digital camera Review: Great Upgrade
Summary: 5 Stars

SanDisk ULTRA SDHC 8GB Class 4 Flash Memory Card SDSDRH-008G-A11 had a fast delivery & vastly increased my camera capacity.

Digital camera Review: Great buy
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased a Nikon D60 camera and wanted a reliable, fast SD card that I didn't have to worry about. The D60 is a 10MP camera so the file sizes of the pictures are very large. This can slow down transfer speeds, plus I wanted to avoid the risk of running out of room on the card just when I needed to take a picture. This card can hold about 4,000 high res images and the transfer speed is pretty quick. There are faster cards, but for the $22 I spent on this one, it is a very good value. I shopped around and found it on most other sites for quite a bit more.

Digital camera Review: Great card but lousy reader!
Summary: 3 Stars

My new Canon G10 uses the new SDHC cards as well as the older SD cards, so in October 2008 I purchased 2 of these cards (8 GB Ultra II SanDisk) with the readers from Amazon. The cards arrived without any readers. I purchased 2 "SanDisk Micromate Reader for SD and SDHC memory cards" from Amazon separately.

When I put the cards into the readers and put the readers into my computer USB port I got a message "This is not a high speed device" and a warning that it would only transfer data at USB 1.0 speed, about 20 minutes for the 20 or so photos on the card. I also got no recognition of the reader&card in the USB ports on the front of my computer, only the ones in the back.

I tried the SanDisk website, no help. I googled and learned that a computer virus could cause my Dell with all USB 2.0 ports to not recognize devices plugged in, so I scanned for viruses. None found. Google also said that drivers could be a problem so I checked the Dell site, no help.

After days of problems and no successes I decided to try another brand and bought a "Blue Proton" SDHC USB2.0 reader which works perfectly! In every one of the USB ports on my Dell!

The SanDisk Ultra II 8 GB cards work perfectly in my G10 but the SanDisk readers are junk and I feel stupid for spending days trying to get them to work. All my Compact Flash and SD and SDHC memory cards and all my card readers are from SanDisk and all have worked perfectly until this. I think I will try a different brand next time.

Digital camera Review: Great for shooting RAW!
Summary: 5 Stars

I am using this card for RAW+JPEG shooting and HD video with the Nikon D90. Plenty of capacity and plenty fast. I have always used genuine SanDisk products (CF, SD and MicroSD) and have never had a single issue with any one of them. Great card at a great price, I'm happy.

Digital camera Review: Great price, quick delivery, very fast
Summary: 5 Stars

With some skepticism, I bought this for my Canon EOS Rebel T1i. The dealer I chose had a good rating and I received it in about 3 days, which I consider very fast. It is a very fast card. Noticeably faster than a standard 8GB at about half the retail price in a drug store. I'd recommend anyone with a digital camera to use this speed whether shooting video or not. I just take single frames of wildlife but usually 2-3 in a burst. This card keeps up with me very well.
