Digital camera reviews of Sandisk Extreme USB 2.0 3in1 Card Reader (SDDRX3-3IN1-901, US Retail Package)Digital camera Review: FAST FAST FAST!! Summary: 5 Stars
Wow! What a difference this reader makes. I always thought my old reader was ok, but this SanDisk Extreme reader changes everything.
Installation was plug and play.
The reader has a nice rubber bottom that prevents it from sliding around your desk and the slots are clearly marked on the front.
Using my old reader, I would get an average transfer rate of 2.5 MB/second (about 520MB in 3.5 minutes). With this SanDisk I get a transfer rate of about 7.5MB/second (about 520 in 70 seconds)! And this is using a "generic" brand standard speed memory card.
If you feel like you are wasting a lot of time waiting around while you download images or videos from your memory cards, this reader is for you!
Digital camera Review: FAST! Summary: 5 Stars
I have been using Sandisk's Extreme CF media for about one year. Now my wife has a 12 Meg camera so also have a 4 Gig Extreme SD card. This matching Extreme reader has a faster data transfer rate than my old Sandisk reader. I had 120 pictures @ ~ 4.9 Meg each (589 Meg total) transfer from the SD card to file in about 2 min and 43 sec. I used MS Scanner and Camera Wizard. Drop n' drag from SD to file was 30 seconds, and drop n' drag from file to SD card was 42 seconds. I am running RAID 10 with Raptors, so file transfer to the HD's will be a bit faster. I highly recommend this reader. Sandisk products have been good to me over the years.
Digital camera Review: Fabulous Product Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great lightweight product that does everything it says it does. I like to travel compact when I go out shooting. This thing is only a little fatter and larger than a CF card and is virtually hollow so it carries like a little chunk of plastic. All you need is the simple USB to mini USB cable to connect it to either mac or pc. Simple, but great product.
Digital camera Review: Fair product Summary: 3 Stars
When tranferring my files, I have had no issues with this reader - it works fine. I have had some trouble getting the reader to recognize the memory card when it's been inserted. Not sure whether it was the memory card or the reader.
Digital camera Review: Fast Summary: 5 Stars
This is much faster than coping from you camera, but you do lose the ability to rename on import using the camera's software.
