When I received this reader, I was very pleased with its performance and cost. It seemed to download very quickly compared to several generic readers I had accumulated over the past couple of years. But in the extreme environment of my desktop, I was only able to download three CF cards before the unit died - no light, no computer recognition, nothing... I wrote Sandisk who referred me back to the seller. I did receive an RMA from BlueProton on 27 February, after a few emails back and forth. So I am waiting now for a replacement unit. Hopefully it will be longer lived.
This is the first Sandisk product I have bought. I had thought I was moving up in the reader world. But they have yet to earn that distinction.

Quality item, very well make. I am a Mac user, and this card reader works fine for OS9, OSX 10.3 and 10.4. And it is fast using USB 2.0 (USB 1.1 for OS9), faster than the Lexar firewire CF card readers I have. The cards fit into this reader very easily, many card readers have a very bad fit, but this one has a great fit for all card types. I have a few card readers, this is as fast as any of them. The thing that has unexpectedly pleased me about it is the rubber bottom that grips my slanted work surface well and keeps it from sliding about.
