Digital camera reviews of Sangean ANT-60 Short Wave AntennaDigital camera Review: Worth the money! Summary: 4 StarsIf you don't want to spend much money for improved reception on a portable SW radio, this is a good choice. I purchased one and it really does help bring in signals that are too weak when using only the built-in telescoping antenna.
This is a handy little portble antenna.
Digital camera Review: Works great with my Grundig Summary: 4 StarsI'm not sure why this didn't work on the earlier reviewer's Grundig. I attached it to the antenna on my Grundig pocket radio and had great results, really strengthened the signal. This is pretty clearly a generic antenna that would work on most if not all radios. I'm very pleased with its performance. My only complaint is that the spool is cheap and difficult to rewind.
Digital camera Review: Excellent For Improving Weak Signals Summary: 5 StarsThis antenna is great for improving weak shortwave signals. It can make a faint signal listenable. As an example, listening to VOA on 17895 kHz from Botswana, with only my Grundig radio's whip antenna, I could not make much out. But with the ANT-60 the signal improved remarkably and I could copy enough to write a reception report, and received a QSL card from VOA verifying I'd heard their Botswana transmitter. It will *not* do much to improve a fairly good signal, but definitely improves weaker ones. I recommend this antenna to anyone who wants to enhance their listening on portable shortwave radios.
Digital camera Review: Grundig Radios Beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Summary: 1 StarsI purchased this for my Grundig shortwave radio, the antenna did virtually nothing on improving my (shortwave) reception. I'm assuming this product is for Sangean radios only.
Digital camera Review: Good little performer Summary: 3 StarsI tried my Sangean ANT-60 Portable Short Wave Antenna with my Sangean 505, I did not notice any significant improvement with reception, but then again at the time I am living in a rather large city (Mexico City, the biggest in the World).I took my little radio and antenna on a recent vacation to the US Virgin Islands and attempted to pick up some radio stations from the French Caribbean with the built in whip antenna. I had some luck, but when I connected the ANT-60 I had some improved reception, I was very happy with the result. I recommend this antenna for non-crowded radio environment.
