I have listened to Morning Edition in the shower for the past 15 years and when I moved into my current 135 year old apartment, there was no outlet in the bathroom to plug my old radio into. Thus began the search for a quality battery operated radio for the bathroom. I tried several shower radios but they always had either poor reception or sounded like the speaker was really a tin can in disguise. After much looking around, I came across this model from Sangean America. I hadn't ever heard of the company, but felt it was worth a try.
I am glad to say that I have been very happy with my shower radio! It enables me to continue listening to my Morning Edition without interruption. The sound quality is quite good and I like that it is easy to have it already set where you want it, and it only takes a simple push of a waterproof button to turn it on and off. I used double stick tape to attach the mount to my tile, and appreciate that I can remove the radio from the mount easily for when I need it elsewhere.
My only complaint, is that there is no clock built in. Which seems really crazy given that there is already a digital display! It seems even more crazy that there is no built in clock but they managed to provide a nearly useless flashlight. (Useless in the sense that I would not likely ever really need it.)
If you are looking for a quality shower radio with good sound and nice features, and if you don't mind not having a clock, I think you would be quite happy with this radio.

This is a great shower radio. The reception on previous radios was horrible, but this one picks up more clearly and the light up clock helps tremendously in the morning to get my husband out of the shower in a timely manner. I rarely write reviews, but I have to this time since this radio is sooooo good. Reception is fantastic and much better than any other radio or receiver in my house, and with just a wire FM antenna! Can't believe I put up with my old shower radio as long as I did; maybe that's because I paid more for it than I did for this one ($60). The quality of construction is very impressive for something in this price range. It's very easy to use and easy to set time, station presets, etc. It even allows you to change the amount of frequency "step" for the tuner. Assuming this radio will be reliable, I can say it easily exceeded my expectations.Digital camera Review: Amazing Product

What a great product !!
My wife and I have been thinking of getting a shower radio for sometime but on the street (shopping) I never came across that I was really satisfied with. I always value the experience of fellow Amazon reviewers and picked this product up without any hesitation after having gone through the comments. Thank you.
First and most important is the reception. We are in a difficult spot where for example I was only able to solve the radio reception problem of my hi-fi radio set by installing a Terk FM-50 Indoor/Outdoor Dual-Drive Amplified FM Antenna (Terk FM50), which is another great product by the way. Tried few places in our shower, picked a location that was good for use and also for reception. Without taking out the wire antenna was able to receive only few stations but after having taken out the wire antenna, dramatic improvement and now receiving all in good quality.
Sound is very good and so is the ease of use. We are so delighted with this radio and using it always as we step in the shower. As one reviewer rightly commented so, better get this product while it is available. I am so happy about this product that I am thinking whether I should install few more in other showers in the house :)

WOW what a radio!!
I have had a Sangean table top radio in my kitchen for a few years now. After disappointment with Tivoli and Sony, the radio with the funny name turned out to be nothing short of fantastic.
I asked for and received this shower radio for Christmas to replace a old Sony. Well, Sangean has done it again with a solid, well designed radio. Very impressive sound and a VERY sold feel.
Thanks Sangean for producing such nice radio.
12/27/09. UPDATE one year later. What a great radio. Unbelievably, no BS, it is still running on the same batteries I installed a year ago. Love this radio.
