Digital camera reviews of Sangean RCR-22 AM/FM Atomic Clock Radio

Digital camera Review: Can't believe this clock got good reviews
Summary: 1 Stars

First, the manual is worthless. Doesn't tell you what all the parts are or where they go--although there are diagrams. Says things like "hold down the button for more than 4 seconds." The on/off button has a picture of a person in a be. To set the alarm, you have to follow the instructions exactly. And the instructions are less than clear--it doesn't tell you, for instance, that the clock relentlessly counting from 1-0 is what is supposed to happen when you set it. Nor does it tell you that it takes several minutes for it to find the signal. It's not intuitive or logical. If there's more than a one-hour power failure, you'll have to get the manual out again to set the alarm.

The display is either too bright to sleep with or too dim to see. It does pull in hard-to-get stations, but that's the only good thing about it. The sound is certainly that of a small plastic clock radio. Any other clock radio will do everything this one does better, except set itself to the correct time.

You have to want this clock--there's no way to set it up without ripping the plastic wrappings to get the parts out, and Amazon won't take it back without the wrappings in tact. If you buy it, it's yours.

Digital camera Review: Christmas gift
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this radio as a Christmas gift. The recipient wanted a clock radio with headset capabilities. Just recently he told me how much he is enjoying the radio. It's just what he needed/wanted and he is not easily pleased! The stations come in clearly and the sound is good. The only complaint that I have is that the atomic clock doesn't seem to work, but setting the clock is easy enough.

I am very satisfied with the radio but would have liked it better in black or silver in lieu of white.

Digital camera Review: Clock radios
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a very good alarm clock and radio. It's easy to use and the time and date set themselves automatically. The normal brightness is too bright at night unless you want a nightlight also. But, this too, can easily be adjusted. The two alarms wake me for my favorite features on the radio - and tunning is digital.

Digital camera Review: Close to perfect if only....
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this alarm clock mainly to let me have a clock radio that I could use the sleep function on and have input to my ipod. My alarm clock is a different radio.

I love it. The reception is great. If a few things were changed around it would be my only one.

I love the multiple alarm settings
I love that you can set the alarm to any digital station or input and it will use that rather than what you had on last.
I like the light setting that lights up when you touch it.

I wish:
I wish the volume for the alarm could be set different than what the sleep settings were on last. My Timex I have now for my alarm does do that. It has a sleep volume and the master volume.

I wish the numbers were bigger or better contrast so that I could see it more easily with my glasses off.

I wish it could charge my ipod as well as use the 3.5 cable so that I didn't have to have 2 cables.

I wish that I could use the headset function for sleep sound but tell it to use the regular speakers for the alarm.
