Digital camera Review: Move over XM

I will admit that I am a radio junkie, this radio has been the best find that I have run across. After several years of being an XM user, I decided it was time to let that go and try out the WIFI radios.
This Sangean gives you almost instant access to any station on the internet, you can find by genere, country or location. I do wish it had more than 12 memory slots but really it does ok, if you had more it would become harder to find your favorites without scrolling through a long list.
I have not tried hooking it up to the computer yet, but if you do you will be able to access all of your MP3 files. one day perhaps I will try that feature.
I would highly recommend this radio to anyone who is looking to expand their radio listening experience and to all XM and Syrius users who find they aren't using their radios for anything more than a in house radio which is what mine was.

I bought a Sangean WFR-20 in January 2008. I only used it occasionally and it worked fine until last week when the device refused to turn on. I sent it back to the distributor and they told me that I have to pay $100 for shipping the radio to Taiwan for evaluation. Service and parts cost extra. The distributor said it's a "circuitry problem" and they can't fix it. They told me it's cheaper for me to junk this set and buy a new one. Ever since I updated the Firmware November 2009 I cannot use this internet radio anymore. Radio is in a loop loading stations forever, doesn't matter LAN or WLAN. Even in December 2010 there is no solution or new firmware. I deeply regret this buy.Digital camera Review: Next Generation in Radio

I am a hard sell when it comes to consumer electronics and research anything I'm thinking about buying for several weeks before taking the plunge. This purchase was not exception. In fact, after two weeks I had exhuasted every resource I could find on the internet. Actually, after the first week, I felt that the Sangean was the way the go but, fearful of buyer's remorse, I strung out my analysis to be sure. The Sangean has met my expectations. The sound quality is phenomenal. Apart from not being able to link to Clear CHannel stations, I'm very satisfied. The one short-coming has to do with the unit's inability to fast forward and rewind podcasts. I hope this gets worked out in a subsequent software update.Digital camera Review: Nice radio BUT

I received this radio as a very thoughtful Xmas present. I have lived in the US for 30 years and one of the few things I still miss about the old country is BBC Radio4. Out of the box I could not get the radio to work at all. This turned out to be some kind of incompatibility with my Airport router & was solved by connecting the radio directly to the modem with an ethernet switch; OK but hardly wifi. The next problem was that the radio reported an error whenever I attempted to get the code to register with the web site that aids with programming and when it finally disclosed this code today the web site was non-operative. The list of programs available on the radio are irritatingly arranged with the US & UK at the bottom of long list - I would have thought that a majority of users would be in these two countries.
This said, the radio is solid & well constructed and the sound quality is excellent. Technical support staff are patient & helpful.And I have LOVED being able to listen to British radio again.
