We researched a lot of mounting brackets and finally settled on the Sanus VMPL50B Universal Flat Panel TV Wall Mount Bracket. We quickly realized that there was a very good reason why every consumer has given it a five star rating. It was quite easy to install and our handy man had absolutely no problem mounting the same above the fireplace. We were able to save hundreds of dollars as quoted by the various installation companies including Circuit City and Best Buy.
The mount came with all the parts you need to mount on any kind of surface. We were mounting ours over the fireplace and all we needed was the surface leveler and we were good to go. All the mounting parts were in the box. Now we have a wonderful TV experience thru our newSony Bravia W-Series KDL-46W4100 46-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV.

I purchased this flat panel wall mount for my Philips 50" Ambilight Plasma TV. The install process was as simple and straight forward as can be and I was able to install it in less than an hour. Basically it's a simple four step process:
1. Find the studs and drill the holes
2. Mount the bracket to the wall
3. Screw in the holders onto TV (hardware is included for your TV)
4. Hang TV onto bracket. Done!
The mount is super solid and very sturdy and it's holding up my plasma great. At first I was worried that I wasn't going to have the right size screws to use for the back of my plasma, but everything was included and labeled very nicely. The other thing I was worried about was that I was going to find my plasma on the floor the next morning...it's been two months and it's held up just fine. Bottom line: Super easy to install, and very sturdy. Overall very satisfied with this product.

This stand arrived in a box that was totally demolished by UPS. The stand was luckily packed well enough is in its own packaging that it was not damaged in the slightest. The stand took no time to organize and arrange on the wall and TV, all the parts are labeled in the bag and the manual. The safety bolts are really annoying (so just don't put them on?) -- they use an allen wrench and are vertical at the bottom of the stand against the wall, so you end up turn a trillion times. All and all the biggest difficulty was getting the normal stand on the TV to come off (we used magnets, a vacuum, and eventually an electromagnet to get the off). I ordered this based on the Amazon reviews, and am completely satisfied. I always read the lowest ratings first to see what problems other people had, and with this product it appeared to be weak lag bolts. Went down to Orchard Supply and got 4 lag bolts for a little over a dollar. I don't know whether the included ones would have broken, but I'd rather be safe than sorry!
The hardware was easy to install by myself, and once everything was ready I got someone to help lift the tv onto the wall. Following the directions, I found it to be a pretty quick and simple job once I purchased the other bolts. Finished it off with a nice cover for the cords and everything is looking great! The tilt is enough that I can easily plug or unplug cords from the tv. It's great to finally cross this off my to-do list!
