You will almost never have to buy batteries again other than 9 volt (square type). Easy to use & they work very well. Use them for toys, remotes, stereos,etc. The charge takes a while (several hours), but worth the wait. Also the batteries hold their charge for many months, while not in use. I only use rechargeables in my house and these have by far been the best. The adapters are great but unfortunately they tend to run out of juice quickly (to be expected when using a AA as a D). So far I've enjoyed using my Eneloop's in small home electronics (game controllers, TV Remotes) and they don't do too bad when used for my photography (Flash units etc). Capacity is a bit lower than I'd prefer but leaving them on the shelf and ready is very helpful.Digital camera Review: Eneloops are my favorites - but look out for NEW ONES!

Eneloop batteries are my favorite AA and AAA rechargeable batteries, but there are newer ones out now!
The newer Eneloops:
* Have 1500 charge cycles (instead of 1000)
* Retain 85% capacity after one year, 80% after two, and 75% capacity after three years
* Are better in cold temperatures... now rated for down to -20°C instead of -10°C.
* Are pre-charged with solar energy (instead of regular energy) in Japan
* AA: Have minimum 1900 mAh (same as old ones)
* AAA: Have minimum 750 mAh (same as old ones)
* Are MADE IN JAPAN (same as old ones)
