The eneloops worked out of the box and after charging, lasted for a 3 week trip, with about 500 pictures on my camera. I use these repeatedly in my Cannon digital camera. I keep 2 sets, 1 charged and 1 in the camera. These rechargeable batteries have easily paid for themselves by keeping me from having to purchase regular AA batteries like before. They charge in about 2-3 hours and so far (after about 6 months) still seem to hold about 90% charge as when new.
