Digital camera reviews of Sanyo VPC-FH1A Full HD Video and 8 MP Digital Photos (Black)Digital camera Review: All tests show good Summary: 5 Stars
This was bought as a gift for my wife who loves taking pictures everywhere we go. I did two days of testing to see how it responded in high to low lighting situations, how fast it is ready to record and ease of use in general. Very pleased, then I allowed it to sit for three weeks, hidden of course, to see how the battery holds up, still showed full charge. Using it then to record a total of about 30 minutes of time in five different segments and it performed great, almost no shake at all, everything in focus, lighting great, and battery still very strong. Great value for quality home pictures.
Digital camera Review: Amazing Handy HD Camcorder (1080p @ 60fps & 8mp Stills) Wow!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
Amazing Handy HD Camcorder (1080p @ 60fps & 8mp Stills) Wow!!!!! Can't beat that!. Affordable price with spectacular capabilities. Bought it here at Amazon. Got it 2 days earlier than the estimated delivery date. Thanks Amazon!!!
Excellent Apple Mac compatibility (iMovie). Great picture Quality!
Everything about this Camcorder is Perfect. Currently, A $3500 Handy HD Camcorder will only give you 1080p @ 30fps or 1080i 60fps.
I think a Video review will justify more of the awesomeness of the Sanyo VPC-FH1A. So, I'll shoot a Video review and post it here and in my website at Netbookcraze com.
The only cons are: It doesn't have a Flash hot-shoe for an external Flash or Mic and no audio in jack..
..but, seriously, who really needs these features, unless you are filming the next Avatar. The only thing that matters in this Camcorder is the HD (1080p @ 60fps & 8mp Stills) that will give you a Gorgeous Video, Nothing more!!!
Ok, I'll be back SOON!!! with my Video review.
Later for now!
AFTER:
MARCH 15, 2010
I have some problem with the Camcorder's Menu.
The instruction Menu & the Actual Menu in the camcorder (FH1A) is 50% different. The instruction Manual is for the FH1 model. I already informed SANYO about it and hopefully they will have a Firmware update pretty soon.
Current Problem:
The "PLAYBACK MENU 1 and 2" is different from the actual Menu in the FH1A.
Basically, ALL the Features on the Playback Menu 1 & 2 in the Manual is not in the Camcorder's Menu.
You can't DELETE a File in the Camcorder...The only Option is by Deleting it in a computer or Formatting the Card directly from the Camcorder.
I'm still loving this Camera!
I will post new Updates for any new developments.
Bye for now

Digital camera Review: Amazing picture but... Summary: 3 Stars
I went from a Panasonic GS320 to this camcorder. The Sanyo blew me away with its picture quality and it cost less than the GS320. I liked the Sanyo alot and it was very easy to use. However, the autofocus didn't work well and the lack of optical stabilization combined with the extremely small size made it too difficult to get consistently good video. I returned it and bought a Panasonic TM700, which I highly recommend.
Digital camera Review: Astounded Summary: 5 Stars
All I can say is WOW!!!! Well, no, that's not all I can say, because if it was I wouldn't be writing a review. Since this is a review, I suppose I should start by being mean; the cons. 600 fps is REALLY BAD quality. I'm talking CAN'T MAKE OUT SOMEONE'S FACE FROM 15 FEET AWAY bad. But on the other hand, if the lighting is really perfect and it's a good, stable shot, it can be really awesome looking. Another con: I plugged in a 256 MB SD card and recorded a 240 fps shot for around 10 seconds before it cut off. This thing eats up your memory. But if you are willing to be uploading files to your computer constantly or spend the $50 for a 16GB SD card, then this is a perfect camera. The full HD is amazing quality, the pictures have some sort of magical lighting effects that make every picture look great, and it fits right in the palm of your hand. It is SUPER easy to use. I used to be a hard core Mini DV guy and was reluctant to try a memory card, but this is SO MUCH better than a Mini DV. The clips show up in order on your screen and in 2 seconds or less you can go from shooting to watching. It's that easy. It's also quite simple to switch the video settings; there are just 3 button clicks standing between you and SUPER SLOW MOTION. A definite buy for anyone who wants a video camera. Period.
