Digital camera reviews of Sanyo eneloop Travel Power Pack Kit

Digital camera Review: Perfect for my needs
Summary: 5 Stars

I have several high drain devices that have extended times between uses, and these AA batteries are just what I needed. Alkaline batteries were costly and didn't last long. Regular NiMH batteries worked great, but needed to be recharged if I left them around too long. The Eneloop batteries allow me to not worry about my devices sitting around for a few months without use, and the batteries being dead. The claim of "85% capacity after a year" might be stretching it a little, but I still have almost a full charge after several months of inactivity.

Digital camera Review: Works great in my digital camera
Summary: 5 Stars

Eneloop are hands down the best rechargeable batteries I've ever used. Its what rechargeable batteries should have been from the start. Not the joke self discharging rechargeable junk that was all that was available till Eneloop came along. I'm certain the only reason big battery companies won't even attempt a battery like this is because it would destroy their business model. People might stop buying 40 packs of disposable batteries! gasp!

These batteries truly are reusable and so much better for the environment. They are more expensive but worth it and will pay back the difference over alkalines quickly. I'm slowly replacing batteries in every device I own. I've been using these batteries about a year in devices that plow through batteries such as walkmans, tv remotes, digital cameras, kids toys, etc. They work fine with any NiMH rechargeable battery charger. Sanyo sells a charger, but even on their web site they say any charger is fine.

The only warning I have is to make sure everyone in the family knows that these batteries should not be thrown away when they die, just recharge them and use again! What a concept! Say goodbye to disposable alkalines. I feel guilty for the hundreds of alkalines I threw out over the years.

Digital camera Review: Hold its charge in digital camera
Summary: 5 Stars

These are the best batteries by far I've used in my digital camera. I've been using them for over a month (over the holidays) and they have held their charge awesome! I typically have to replace batteries every 2-3 days. My other batteries always needed to be recharged and were worthless at holding a charge very long. I think I've finally found a good durable, reliable battery.

Digital camera Review: Got the starter pack with adapters
Summary: 4 Stars

After reading some of these reviews I got some education on what makes these rechargeable batteries special, they are not high capacity or any super batteries, just batteries that discharge at a much slower rate than regular rechargeable types. I was wondering why my status on these batteries for devices showed only 75% charged when fully charged by the battery charger itself. These batteries have a lower voltage rating than the typical 1.5v alkalines. This makes perfect sense and confirms the batteries are operating at optimal. Thanks folks, for writing those thoughtful reviews.

The D Adapters that came with the starter kit are loosely fitting. In order for me to get them to work, I had to wrap the AA's in a strip of paper to make sure they don't move. The contacts on the top of the adapters are small as well, so depending on what you're trying to use them for, there's going to be some fidgeting to get it working. Since the AA's are lower voltage than alkaline D's, there are going to be many cases where these are not going to work. The D Adapters aren't completely worthless, there will be things like doorbells and radios that could use these.

Digital camera Review: The batteries work well
Summary: 4 Stars

I don't have to charge them up that often, and they seem to last longer than regular batteries.
