Digital camera reviews of Scosche Car FM Transmitter for iPod and MP3 PlayersDigital camera Review: Did not work for me Summary: 1 Stars
I have tried this product in 3 different vehicles and with an mp3 player as well as an ipod with no luck. In some areas, it will work temporarily and then cut out to static and I have to change to another station. When I finally get one of the 4 stations to work it will go out again and i have to start over. However, it does seem to work a little better in larger cities (I live in a rural area). But I would not recommend it for long trips as you are constantly having to change the frequency.
Digital camera Review: Limited capabilities. Summary: 1 Stars
I can't really say how well this works since there are no open frequencies in my area and I haven't been able to actually tune in to an open channel. This tuner only works on four channels between 80 and 90. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
Digital camera Review: Ok-Good Summary: 3 Stars
This is not a hunk of junk but neither does it go very far it barely covers my trailer and wont go through the alluminium siding at all so if 88.5 and 88.1 are coming in strong in your area you will have no luck with 88.3 (so thats 3 channels you can't use) and 88.7 might get feedover from 88.5 anyway it will work in a car great but if its for your trailer forget it if 88.5 and 88.1 are in use locally.
Digital camera Review: Scosche FM transmitter - best so far. Summary: 4 Stars
This device is simple, elegant and just works. It's better than several others I've tried. Since the main unit plugs directly into 12 volt power in the car, there are no batteries to worry about. Even though it has only 4 FM frequencies, even in a busy metropolitan area (Denver) I can usually find a frequency on which it will work. The sound quality is good, not great. Having an auxiliary input jack on my car stereo would be the best solution, but since the car manufacturers are hopelessly behind the times, the is the next best thing.
Digital camera Review: Simple and Powerful Summary: 4 Stars
I have tried other FM Transmitters, before and since buying my first Scosche, but continue to keep coming back to this product. The simplicity of this product is that it only has four channels. The key to this product is that within that four channel range the transmitter is capable of powering through most interference. My family and I travelled from Detroit to Washington D.C., and in that distance only had to find a new channel three times.
Many other brands will advertise that they can use the entire channel range to find a "clear" channel. However, within five minutes there tends to be interference, and you're having to change the channel again. As I previously mentioned, I have tried other brands. I have had several Belkin models, even a supposedly "higher" priced model, and within my commute from Detroit to Ann Arbor, I had to change the channel more than I did from Detroit to Washington D.C.
I would highly recommend this product for people like myself who do not have an auxillary jack in their vehicle.
