I've been buying the sony earbuds the last several years and on a lark bought a pair of these. They are as good as the sony as far as sound quality goes. I can't tell a difference but my audio books are not always of the highest bit rate.
The one thing I did not like was the rubber coating of the wires is soft and "sticky". They are more prone to tangle. The wires on my sony earbuds mdr-ex71 are "slicker" and "stiffer" and less prone to tangle. years ago sony made some that were soft and the rubber coating quickly failed. So I'm cautious about the durability of the sennheiser.
Just FYI, not good or bad but the design of the sennheisers is for uneven wire lengths for right and left earbuds. If that is what you like.
I later found out they are top rated by consumer reports
The price is the best! A great pair of headphones to have around when going to the gym or when the primary set fail or get lost.

What a great buy! I walk a lot and I wanted earbuds that were light and fit comfortable in the ear and stay in! The standard buds that came with my Zune do not stay in my ear. These are incredibly light, comfortable and great if you are a walker or runner. I really like the uneven lentgh so you can wear them behind your head.
The best part is the price! Wow, what a great buy!

Everything that has been said about the sound is correct in the previous reviews. But I'm surprised that more people don't complain about the excessive length of the one side of the 'V' headphone (where one side is much longer). It is literally so long that you could wrap it around a basketball. This makes it very cumbersome for use at the gym, running, etc, where it is always catching on stuff or getting in the way. It is the one glaring flaw that is causing me to sell these and go back to my other phones.Digital camera Review: A great noise-blocking headphone!

I bought this headphone over a month ago and have been using it while on public transit as well as in the gym. Once you ensure that the fit works well, the noise blocking is fantastic. Except for people standing closer to you to talk, you hear absolutely nothing else. I am used to the cable wrapped around behind the neck now.
