Digital camera reviews of Sennheiser EH-150 Dynamic Sound Evolution Hi-Fi Stereo Headphones

Digital camera Review: After Two Years, They Continue to Be Awesome.
Summary: 4 Stars

The pros and cons of the EH-150s have been thoroughly debated. I won't go there. I just want to say this: If you've browsed among the many headphones offered on Amazon, strained your eyes through the reviews and can't drop hundreds for dj quality phones, I suggest the EH-150s to the bargain shopper. You won't be disappointed if you're looking for SOLID quality headphones that can withstand everyday use, are fairly light and portable, and don't make you look like you're piloting a helicopter. I bought these on Amazon on a cold February day in 2008 -- and they're still going strong, no breakages, no frayed cords, split wires, damaged or torn earcups - nothing replaced. Besides minor chipping of the silver paint around the top (from them repeatedly dropping from desk to wood floor) they look fine. They are still superb headphones. I'm not an expert or a sound enthusiast/connoisseur, I just like quality phones that last with a nice full, sharp, not-too-bassy sound. Not 'flat' but 'multi-layered' and true to the recording (non-technical terms). Each instrument and voice is distinct, and high bitrate music sounds phenomenal, as intended. And the Sennheiser brand is as far as you need to look if that's what you want; better than Koss, Sony, Coby what have you - for this price.

A few things:
- Only with music playing at the time of use do these headphones act as 'noise-canceling'. People will have to work to get your attention now, if you can't see them (or are ignoring them).
- Super long cord
- After several hours use your ears will feel the pressure of wearing them. But only after many many hours. Go outside!
- You can get the greatly inferior hd201s at Best Buy for $30 right now or get the eh150s for $10 more.

Digital camera Review: All the info you need
Summary: 5 Stars

Having used these headphones for over a year now, I feel properly qualified to review them. Here is what you need to know:

Yes, these headphones are awesome. They sound great, and totally kick iPod phones out of the water any day. I'm not a sound guru, so I won't start throwing frequency data at you, but I am a very discerning music listener, and these phones are amazing for the money.

However, these cans do lack vibrancy. When you start using them, you will notice that although everything is clear and sharp, the sound overall has a dull-ish quality to it. It has no punch - even iPod phones are more lively than these. But after a couple of weeks I became accustomed to it and used it happily for over a year. (The vibrancy never 'burnt-in'; whenever friends would borrow it they would comment on this lack of punch.) This is not a major issue - you will quickly become used to it and the cans still sound awesome; but it is something to keep in mind.

The sound cancellation is great. I have a large family, but with these on I am in pure heaven - I can't hear anyone! (Really annoys the family though. Haha.) Because the cancellation is so good, you can listen to your iPod and movies at much, much lower sound levels than you would need for normal iPod phones. So these cans are much healthier for your ears and will help preserve your hearing.

But now, after 12 months, the left side is playing up. To be fair, I listen to an obscene amount of music. I used these cans for many hours every single day. An average guy would get many years of use out of these, so I have no complaints.

If you are looking for great phones under $40, these are the ones to get. Enjoy!

Digital camera Review: All the sound in the world cannot make up for the lack of comfort
Summary: 1 Stars

Tremendous sound, etc., like everyone else says. However, it is absolutely unbearable to wear these headphones. At first you feel the pressure on your head like a clamp, and when that subsides you can't help but to notice that a fourth of your earlobe hangs outside of the hole provided for your ears.

I know this sounds a little extreme, but honestly, as much as I enjoy the sound of these headphones, it is impossible to focus on listening for an extended period of time without your head hurting.

I will soon be on the market for another more comfortable and more portable pair of headphones

Digital camera Review: Almost perfect
Summary: 4 Stars

When I first got these I was a bit skeptical, because I had never heard of this brand, then when i listened to them...WOW! They are amazing, the bass, just the quality of the sound is amazing. The only two flaws where that it was a bit uncomfortable on the ears, and had to constantly adjust them. The worst of the flaws, was that the wiring that goes to the headpieces were real thing and quickly broke, after regular use, and I am very careful with my things. So it would have been perfect if it weren't for the weak wiring, and the uncomfortable design. Otherwise, with respect to quality, it is much more than what you pay for!
