Digital camera reviews of Sennheiser HD201 Lightweight Over-Ear Binaural HeadphonesDigital camera Review: A lot for a little Summary: 4 Stars
I never expected such great frequuency response from such a reasonably priced set of head phones. I love highs and low low frequencies. This set of phones deliver a highly satisfactory range of both.
Digital camera Review: Absolutely Amazing for the price Summary: 5 Stars
FYI, Sennheiser has discontinued this line, i sent mine in under warranty and they said they have been discontinued. Therefore instead of repairing them or sending me a new pair of 201's they sent me the HD 205's which are $50 retail compared to the 20 i spent. However, now that i have received the 205's i would really like my 201's back they were much more comfortable, and the sound was about the same.
Digital camera Review: Acceptable, not great. Summary: 4 Stars
I have been using this headphone for about one week. Generally, I am satisfied with it for what I invest.
Pros: Design and quality are good--this headphone is one of those will last for years. Sound quality is OK for a 20 bucks product.
Cons: But if you want a professional gaming/music headphone, forget it. Sound leaking is significant and noise isolating is null. The biggest problem is the long. Not ever portable at all.
It is no perfect headphone. But it is good enough for what it costs.
Digital camera Review: Affordable headphones that DO NOT sound cheap! Summary: 4 Stars
Just got these. There are a lot of very accurate reviews here about the sound details. Honestly, though, they're splitting hairs. $20 headphones just cannot be held to the same standard as $80 headphones - That would be dumb.
I imagine audio technicians doing semi-serious studio work and gamers that like over-the-top bass and volume won't like these.
But you're looking at these Sennheisers probably for the same reason I was looking at them: You want cheap headphones that don't sound cheap. THESE SENNHEISERS QUALIFY, and have all the others beat using these two criteria: price and sound quality. They're perfect for basic use.
If anything, I agree that extended wear might - depending on what you're accustomed to - put a bit of an uncomfortable pressure on the ears due to the design. The pocket where your ears sit can stand to be a bit deeper or have an inner-cushion since it's an "over-ear" headphone set. [Minus one star for that.] I plan on using them mostly at 30-60 minute intervals so I think I'll be fine.
Alternatively, I was also looking at the Senn HD203's which you might want to check out too.
Digital camera Review: Affordable quality Summary: 4 Stars
Great price. This is a great standard pair of headphones, probably the best quality product you can get for the price. I've had these about 8 months now and despite getting the cord hooked and my chair wheels and stressing the cable-both ears still get sound. Probably the longest a pair of headphones have lasted for me. Fit easily over my entire ear. smallest size setting fits my head just right. Sound quality is good, but they're not something you would want for studio listening. Great deal regardless.
