Digital camera reviews of Sennheiser HD201 Lightweight Over-Ear Binaural HeadphonesDigital camera Review: Alright but 202s are a better choice. Summary: 2 Stars
I previously owned some Sennheiser HD202 headphones which I loved but after those went out in one ear after about 9 months I searched for a replacement. I bought some koss ones which were more expensive but beautiful and great sound quality, great for home use. However, as much as everyone hates the leatherette and cheap plastic, the 202s that I was used to were much lighter and more portable which is what I wanted, something that could travel with me. Also the idea of having anything too expensive on your person all the time strikes me as tempting fate. I looked to Sennheiser. The first time I put these on I knew that I didn't like them as much. They were uncomfortable, which to be fair I mostly got used to but the cups don't swivel the way they do on the 202s making them rather uncomfortable to wear around your neck. These are personal complaints but what surprised me was how poor the sound quality was. Again maybe this is a function of what I'm comparing them to but the sound is much flatter than expected, much less bass, and doesn't get as loud. Don't get me wrong me wrong, they're ok, better than the buds that come with your ipod anyway, I used them. Anyway after about 5 months the right side is cutting out which I'm not angry about, at this price point, and the way I abuse headphones I expect them to be somewhat ephemeral. I could get them fixed but then I'd have to find a receipt and mail all this stuff in and wait and yada, yada, yada. I didn't like them that much anyway. I think I'm just going to buy some new HD202s. If you're in the market for some Sennheisers you probably should to. Spend the extra ten bucks. You'll be glad you did.
Digital camera Review: Alright for Headphones under 20 dollars... Summary: 4 Stars
First off, if you are looking for a pair of headphones that delivers powerful bass, strong pitch, and incredible sound... YOU WILL BE PAYING AT THE MINIMUM $50.00! I must say these headphones are pretty decent for being under 20 dollars. Recently my 50 dollar Koss headphones got destroyed. So naturally I wanted to save a buck and try these out.
Pros:
Very comfortable
long cord
clear sound
inexpensive
Cons:
lacks bass
-the bass is present, it just isn't powerful enough for me
SOUND VOLUME!!!
-I have my pc's volume turned all the way up! Itunes is all the way up, and I still would like it to be louder...
-Once I go back to my apartment I'll see if it can withstand the noises of my roommates.
Overall, the 201's deliver a clean crisp sound. Just lacks a little bass and some power! A good buy for headphones under 20 big ones...
Cheers!
Digital camera Review: Amazed for the price Summary: 5 Stars
I got these several days ago, and have since used them for about 24 hours. I listen to music, play games, and watch moves on my laptop and the sound is very clear. I read the review that 'S' would sound like 'Ssssss', so I put in some Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavine, Bette Milder, Pretenders, and Bangles and they sounded perfect. This is on a T61 Thinkpad which is known for having low volume. These headphones sound great with my volume set to 25% which is excellent on my battery.
They are not very noise cancelling, meaning I can put them on with no sound going, and I will hear muffled noises from the room ( my AC fan, the dishwasher, etc.... ). Now if I turn some sound on, I can not hear those noises. For me this is fine, if you like to have absolute silence when the music goes into a quiet spot, then you may be disapointed.
For $20 I have never seen headphones this nice, they fit over the ear, and the headband fits amazingly well. I wear glasses and had no problems. The cord is nice and long, and is very flexible. I have worn these for about 10 hours straight, and when I took them off my ears felt fine, I had no headaches, and the inside of the cups were dry.
Digital camera Review: Amazing Headphone for the price! Summary: 4 Stars
These headphones are the best that I ever purchased for only $17! I have bought headphones/earphones from Sony, Phillips, Skullcandy, Coby and they were all uncomfortable but I had never tired Sennheiser until a friend told me about them. I am happy to report that these Sennheiser headphones are the most comfortable audio accessory I have ever purchased. Kudos Sennheiser!
