Digital camera reviews of Sennheiser HD201 Lightweight Over-Ear Binaural HeadphonesDigital camera Review: Bad Quality Sound and Uncomfort for a Reasonable Price Summary: 1 Stars
I have a pair of bose that are about to break they even have masking tape to avoid them to fall apart, thats why I thought it was time to get a new pair.
I hated this headphones since the first moment I used them. The leatherette is stiff, not comfortable at all. The plastic is cheap I don't know how long would it last. They are too big so they didn't fit me and the noise reduction is null since they don't make any pressure over my ears, and they keep falling backwards from my head. Sound is not as crisp, clear and balanced as I thought it would be, and it seemed to me too low.
I'll keep my shattered bose until not wearable.
Digital camera Review: Balanced sound compared to HD202. Summary: 4 Stars
I had used HD202 also from Sennheiser for more than 2 years before I bought this one. From the model numbers you probably guess that they are similar. Well they are both CLOSED type headphones with about the same size, but the sound is very different. HD202 is most valued for its GREAT bass, and yet HD201 has a more balanced sound.
FYI, the sound DOES change after 'break-in' or 'burn-in'. When I first bought HD202 (for $40) I was very disappointed by the sound, and thought it was just a waste of money. But the sound changed a lot after 6 month's usage (1 hour every day) and it became my favorite headphone. It's actually not strange at all given that HD202 as well as HD201 is DYNAMIC type. I'm sure HD201 will sound better after some time, hopefully with more bass.
If you are looking for a headphone for about $20, I recommend you go with HD201 (if you prefer strong bass) or HD202 (if you prefer balanced sound).
PS: The HD201 I received had a very bad quality. It just fell on the CARPET (not a hard floor) from my desk and broke into 2 pieces. Probably it's just mine, and I'm going to return it.
Digital camera Review: Best $20 I've ever spent. Summary: 5 Stars
Wow! I cant believe how good the sound is for cheap phones.
Cans that cost three times more arent any better.
Digital camera Review: Best Bang For Your Buck Summary: 4 Stars
Two year warranty, great sound quality, comfortable, and all for under $20? It's a great product for the price. The only problem I have with it is that the bass is a bit low, but I hear the 202's are a bit better with that.
Digital camera Review: Best Deal on Quality Headphones Summary: 5 Stars
Quality construction, noise-blocking headphones do what they're supposed to do - superior quality of sound for such a low price (I paid $22 including shipping at Amazon). Am looking to buy more as gifts. These headphones have an adaptor so they can be used in older large-plug devices as well as popping them into my computer or iPod. Full, rich, clear sound; lightweight but sturdy construction - I laugh when I look at ads for similar-looking noise-blocking headphones from Bose advertised with a convenient 12 month payment plan to pay the $180 price...
