This is the first pair of headphones I ever purchased and they sound so much better than those that come free with walkman or cd player. As usual, Mr. Chell writes a wonderful review of these headphones. I, too, found the sonic quality very impressive, with excellent reproduction of lows, mids, and highs. I am a bass lover, and these did not disappoint. Music sound live and "present," yet lives up to the advertised "natural" sound.
That said, they're just a bit tight around the ears. You can adjust the over-the-head headband to loosen that, but then you lose just a little stability and comfort. However, lenghtening the headband is the most effective adjustment; it makes a substantial difference. Sennheiser should have added thicker padding under the headband, but that would have gone against the goals of foldability (works pretty well!) and light weight. I also wish they had indicated which is the forward direction, and distinguished the right from the left earpiece, but perhaps these are irrelevant.
To sum, these are great-sounding, lightweight earphones that hoop up easily to an Ipod, but not to one's laptop (at least, not my Dell). The slightly tight fit may ease after more months of use, or adjusting the headband length. Therefore, sound is a 5*, comfort is only a 4* (though heavier, the heavily-padded SONY MDR V6 is far more comfortable). At this point, I doubt I'd buy anything else in this price range--all the phones have their problems, and sound is heavily valued in this review.
Unfortunately, most of the manufacturer's at this price don't include much in the way of specs, so you spec-heads out there may want to look lover the following:

These are simply incredible headphones.
Today I just replaced the foam earpads on my PX100s, after over 4 years of service life. I have beaten the hell out of them -- in and out of a backpack on a daily basis, taken on dozens of trips, crammed in desks -- you name it. These headphones are built to last, and still sound great after all this time. And beyond durability, portability, and sound quality, they are COMFORTABLE -- probably the only pair I can wear for hours at a time and even forget that I have them on.
I cannot say enough good things. If you want the tried and true, get these headphones. The only other option I would consider for portables is the new Grado iHeadphones (but I think they're ugly).

I've own a pair of PX-100's since 2002. For under $50, these are great headphones! Very light weight, and I've used them constantly for the gym. I am use to using audio gear of much higher caliber, but these are just awesome headphones! Perfect for the gym, or subway, or walking. They are open-type so you can hear outside, but it only leaks just a bit. I bought a second pair a year ago since I lost my original pair, but my original pair lasted 7 years of gym, working, etc... and no damage. They do seem fragile at first, but they can handle it. I can't say enough good things about these speakers. Yes, I use better headphones at home with an amp, but it's hard to beat these for great music and portability with an Ipod/MP3 player.Digital camera Review: A Good Investment in Very Rich Sound Quality

I listen to a lot of audio these days with my headphones. I found the dynamic sound quality of these headphones to be outstanding. I was truly surprised by the rich tonal qualities coming out these headphones. They are actually quite affordable even if you are not an audiophile. These fit comfortably and are very impressive for something so light as they deliver a very clean and brilliant sound.
