Digital camera reviews of Sennheiser RS 130 Wireless Surround Sound HeadphonesDigital camera Review: Awesome! Summary: 5 Stars
Bought these a few weeks ago...Christmas present to myself. I've never owned any wireless headphones before so I don't have any comparison in that regard. What I have used in the past are wired headphones. Are these as good as those? No! But compared to my expectations, these headphones are awesome! Just for your info, I'm using these for TV & movies, not for any high end audio.
It was very easy to set up. When I first set everything up, the sound quality contained a lot of static, but following another reviewer's suggestion, I turned the source volume near max & turned the headphone volume down & the result is excellent. I've got these set up on the second floor of a 2 story house & I can walk around pretty much anywhere in the house & still get excellent reception. When you reach the distance limits, the sound comes & goes but the quality remains.
Another thing that impressed me was the ease & stability with which the headphones sit on/connect to the base/charger. Also, a red indicator light on the base unit makes it very easy to determine headphones' charge status. In my use, I've never drained the batteries. The base also has a green power & yellow surround indicator lights
Bottom line...from my experience, if you want wireless headphones, you can't go wrong with the RS-130s.

I received these headphones as a birthday gift, I had given a few well placed hints (and amazon links) to the wife :-)
These are amazing, I am throughly amazed at the quality, ease of use and overall experience. The sound quality is perfect - you completely forget you are using a wireless headset, in fact I have a wired set of sennheiser headphones (also great - but wired) and I think the quality of the wireless is better than that of the wired set I purchased a few years ago. If you are looking for a great set of wireless headphones you will not be disappointed.

I have had these for a few weeks now..also got the add-on head phones so we have 2 pair. We love them. I initially made the purchase because the accoustics in the house (tile floors)along with the open floor plan prevent me from hearing the telivision when the family is in the kitchen. I was using them with a Vizio 37" led. Now we are using them with our new Samsung 50" Plasma. Contrary to what I have read in other reviews....the surround option is great...it was amazing to watch Transformers Rise of The Fallen...amazing surround sound for head phones.
With a newer Telivision you will need a converter to go from your digital output to the headphones...this is what I got....GefenTV Digital to Analog Decoder .

The sound quality is with these headphones, though a bit muddy in certain scenarios, is great for music. I would not recommend them for games, as this is where the muddy effect appears. Specifically, it can be difficult at times to pinpoint the location a sound is coming from in relation to the action on-screen. Also, there is a reason why additional headphones are available for this model. After about six months or so, the headphones just died. I even tried new batteries, and no damage was sustained by the RF unit itself. I took good care of the headphones and haven't decided to purchase a second unit.
The feel of the casing surrounding the speakers, especially the plastic, feels as if it could break at any moment. It is possible that the transmitter itself has had an internal failure of some sort, as I can still hear the on/off beeps through the headphones yet cannot hear the sound being transmitted via the computer that I hooked them up to.

Ugh.
I received these as a Christmas present and was so excited to use these, but they're a nightmare. I get SO MUCH STATIC coming through, I can't even use them. I do live in an apartment, so that is probably the problem. I don't see why that is though. I have a pair of cheapy $30 wireless headphones from Radio Shack that work just fine, no hissing. I can't even walk out of my bedroom without these headphones crackling and hissing loudly in my ear. With my Radio Shack headphones, I could go down to the BASEMENT of my building without the headphones cutting out. Unfortunately, my mother bought these for me in October, so when Christmas came along, it was already past the day we could return them. So basically I have a pair of $130 headphones being used as a paperweight. Go me!
I may update this review with a video so you can hear the hissing for yourself.
Bottom line: don't buy these if you live in an apartment. For some reason, these phones just don't handle it well.
