Digital camera reviews of Sharp SPC364 Atomic LCD Bedside Alarm Clock (Silver)Digital camera Review: Almost no backlight Summary: 3 Stars
I love the looks of the clock and it got the radio signal within 10 minutes but when it got dark and I pressed the backlight to see the time a tiny dim light came on in the right hand corner of the clock and about all you can see are the seconds. However, I still like it and will put up with straining to see the time at night.
Digital camera Review: Basic atomic clock that DOES work Summary: 5 Stars
1. I think the various negative reviews on this clock is related to the fact that many folks don't know how to operate an atomic clock... and they're too impatient for it to calibrate itself.
2. With that being said, if you try to make this clock work as soon as you get it out of the box, you'll be frustrated. However, what I would recommend is pop in the battery, don't even look at the lame instruction sheet, and just set the clock aside and don't think about it --> wake up the next day and the time / time zone etc... WILL be correct.
3. Overall, a great little product, that's inexpensive and keeps perfect time with no fuss.
Digital camera Review: Battery seems to last forever! Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this clock about 2 years ago and have never had to replace the battery yet! It works OK for me as an alarm..it is not very loud but that works for me. Since I have used the alarm function since I bought it not having the instructions have not been an issue but i can see how it could be difficult to learn without them. The biggest drawback is the very dim backlit but I have learned to live with it. This year it did not revert back to CST from DST. I finally pushed the reset button and it reset it self with in 2 minutes with the correct date and time. I don.t think Sharp makes this clock or any clock for that matter, because when you go the the company web site there are no clocks listed anywhere in products or support. I think they just license the name for these products and that is what makes it so hard to find manuals when they are lost. I think Amazon was very nice for scanning the manual and posting in the image section for this product.
Digital camera Review: Beeps every time you hit a button Summary: 2 Stars
This thing is kind of hard to figure out. Everything is somewhat intuitive except for the time zone, which is why I navigated to this page in the first place (it's late I switched from East Coast to West Coast by accident and after fiddling with it for 15 minutes decided the internet was the best option). Worse when you are setting this clock it beeps. There is a way around this (you can hold the snooze/light button) but it doesn't work for every function. Eventually you will have to take your finger off the snooze button to get it to switch to another function and then...it beeps...loud. I had to go outside to try to figure it out because I didn't want to wake up my wife and kid (light sleepers). Why should it beep when you hit a button? It's an alarm clock. It should only beep when the alarm goes off. This is so annoying and unecessary I feel compelled to not only give it 2 stars but to actually write this review (I've got a final tomorrow and I should have been in bed over half an hour ago.)
Digital camera Review: Changing days is not good Summary: 3 Stars
I've had this clock for a couple of years. Every once in a while (seemingly random) the date will be incorrect. I can't imagine how this happens, since the clock is in a room where NO ONE ELSE GOES. Just this morning, I found it to be one day off. The time is exactly right on, but the date is off. Today, it was one day slow. Other times I've found it MANY days off. There is seemingly no indication that the battery is low. I'm just reporting this here, since this seems to be a clearinghouse site for problems/solutions for this clock.
