Digital camera reviews of SharpTech SPC303 LCD Travel Alarm Clock with Folding Metal Case (Champagne)Digital camera Review: Looks can be deceiving Summary: 2 Stars
I bought this alarm clock today (April 7, 2007) at Bed, Bath and Beyond for $10. I wish I had seen the reviews first. I bought it because of the product name, small size and variety of options. Unfortunately, I realized it wasn't a great buy when I brought it home...and spent a few hours trying to keep the battery in a certain position so the clock would stay on. The connections appear to be very sensitive and the battery doesn't stay in place.
The clock light is pointless. It's supposed to help you see the time in the dark, but unless you have the clock at a certain angle everything will appear blurry. Actually, the screen is blurry in most positions even with the light off.
As for the alarm, it's pretty quiet. If you're a sound sleeper or live in a noisy environment, this is not the clock for you. You'll only hear the alarm if you sleep with it under your ear.
A final note on this product: The clock has been on for almost an hour without any problems...but only with the battery cover slightly open. If I close the cover all the way, the clock shuts off. If you want an alarm clock that will last awhile, I suggest buying something else. You get less than you pay for with this model.
Digital camera Review: No quality unreliable piece of junk Summary: 1 Stars
I purchased this item for it's sleek portable design. Features looked great and display seemed easy to read. So I set the clock and the alarm on the first night. There is a large button in the center for Snooze and/or illumination. Every time you hit this button it clears the clock back to 12:00 and deletes any alarm settings. This happens every time. I managed to avoid touching the button for the next few days, but the clock still reset to 12:00 every time you turned off the alarm. By the end of the week, the battery door just kept falling off. Each time that happened, it became a bigger problem to keep the door secured. This product is just a piece of junk. Really, just junk.
Digital camera Review: Not worth it Summary: 1 Stars
I bought this at Bed Bath & Beyond for $9.99 (with a 20% off coupon). The first time I tried to use the light, the entire thing went dark, and there's nothing I can do to revive it. Really slick little clock, until you actually try to use all the features. Returning it to be repaired or replaced would cost me $5.95 s/h, and since I paid only $8 for it to begin with....
Digital camera Review: Overall GREAT Clock Summary: 4 Stars
I have owned 4 of these. And I keep buying more as needed. I keep one at work and one at home. Nice and compact. Takes a special round flat battery easily available at Walmart. May be a little pricey but it is slim and works fine. Shows the temperature day date and month. I dropped one out of my top pocket hit the tile foor it broke so dont use this clock as a hammer. Has a snooze on it rings slow at first then faster if you don't wake up. The lighted dial is not so great stays on for a half of a second - if its dark you can't hardly use the light to set the time or alarm light only good to check the time... its a button you press. May be a little pricey but its easily carried in pocket and nice and slim. Tape the battery compartment shut as needed I had one wherein the battery compartment would come open. Battery lasts a long time. I have owned 4 cause lost one and broke one and one wore out. When the numbers and stuff start freaking out don't throw it away like I did go buy a battery.. Oh, also has a military time display either civilian or military.
Digital camera Review: Perfect travel alarm clock Summary: 5 Stars
This is our 2nd time purchasing this alarm clock after the 1st one was cracked. My husband says this is his "dream" alarm clock. It has every feature he wants. He uses it daily, but it is also great for travel as it is very light-weight and compact.
