Digital camera reviews of Shure E2c Sound Isolating Earphones

Digital camera Review: Awesome sound and customer service!
Summary: 5 Stars

Not only are these earphones comfortable and give you detail you didn't realize were you in your music, Shure's customer service is amazing. Sound in one of the sides started going out (this appears to be a common problem with any earphones after awhile). I mailed them back to Shure and within two weeks, had a new set mailed to me.

Digital camera Review: Awesome sound! Great, compact design!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is my 3rd pair of Shure earphones, and this particular pair sounds better than the previous two pair. This pair was also less (about $70), whereas, the second pair I purchased (about $99), didn't sound as good, and weren't as comfortable to wear. What I really love about these earphones is that #1 they stay in your ears and don't slip out, especially with the cord strap on the back, #2 because they are plugs, they help block background noise, so you can hear what you are listening to more clearly, and #3 their dynamic range is amazing for such a small earphone, you can hear all the highs, mid, and a lot of low frequencies in everything you listen to. If you listen to your iPod a lot, I would highly recommend paying a little more ($70), compared to buyings some cheap pair of earphones for $20.

Digital camera Review: Awesome!

I have to admit, I, like many of the other reviewers here was concerned about the cost of these headphones. But then I got to thinking, how many pairs of earbuds and headphones had I bought in the past couple of years trying to find the right ones.

I did the math, and now I wish I'd have bought the E2C's straight away.

These are simply the best sounding ear-buds I've ever tried.

I work in a wood-working shop, so I regularly have to wear hearing protection, and I generally wear my earbuds undernieth. This is not usually very comfortable. With the E2C's, however, they block out so much of the outside noise, that I only feel the need to wear my ear muffs when working with particularly loud machinary. Routers, saws, drills etc are all nicely blocked out.

So I give them a five out of five both for sound quality (which as other reviewers have mentioned is simply awesome, there are subtleties to my music I'd never heard before), as well as 5 out of 5 for noise cancellation. The only thing better would be custom fit studio monitors (which incidentially you can upgrade the E2C's to if you like).

I am on the road 95 to 100 percent due to my job, so this entails alot of flying. I have been looking for a decent pair of noise canceling headphones for a long time (I've gone through 4 different pairs). These ear buds were recommended to me by a gentlemen at a best buy store. I didnt want to spend the money that day, plus they were out of stock. A few days ago I found myself looking for yet another set of headphones, and a gentleman at another best buy once again recommended these. I finally decided to pick them up, and havent been able to put them down except to sleep yet! The music and movies sound so clear! They put all the rest of the brands I've tried (noise cancelling and non) to shame! They sound so great with the movies and music I listen too on my PSP! And they block out all outside noise I've been exposed to sofar! Considering what noise cancelling costs anyway, I'd definately recommend anyone to pick these up! BTW I ususally have the same problem someone else did here, with small ears and ear buds, but haven't been uncomfortable with the selection of inserts that come with these buds!

Digital camera Review: Awful -- get Sennheiser instead
Summary: 1 Stars

I fly a lot, so I wanted some earphones that would reduce the airplane noise. First I got the Shure E2c since they were the most widely advertised. What a disaster -- I hard a very hard time getting them to fit in my ears, and when I finally did they were uncomfortable and the sound was pretty awful (very tinny).

Then I got the V-Moda Vibe earphones and the Sennheiser CX-300. Both were much better in every way than the Shures -- better fit and better sound. Overall, the sound on the Sennheiser was slightly better (more bass) than the V-Moda. I also felt the Sennheiser did the best job of the 3 of blocking out the ambient noise. Add that to the fact they cost about half of the other 2, and the clear winner is the Sennheiser CX-300.
