Digital camera reviews of Shure E2c Sound Isolating EarphonesDigital camera Review: Always fiddling with this! Summary: 1 Stars
I've waited over a month to write my review because I wanted to get used to the way these things worked & find the best sleeves to use before I wrote a review.
I read all the instructions to make sure I was using the earphones correctly. The music was very tinny & I found that I really had to SHOVE these things deep in my ear to create an almost vacuum seal or I couldn't hear the bass. This was great until I had to yawn or move around & the seal would break. Not only that, but the suction inside my ear to create this seal & hear the bass was painful at times.
The buds come with some little stickers to put on the tubes before you put on the sleeves. These stickers are supposed to prevent ear wax from building up in the tubes, but I could never get these things to stay on the end of the tubes when I put the sleeves on. They stuck on my fingers more than on any part of the earphone. They would slide to the side of the tube. Then I found that they could come off & stay INSIDE YOUR EAR!! How safe is that?
I really needed to look at the diagram(s) to make sure I was putting the buds in properly - upside-down w/ the wires pointing UP. The buds are not labeled Right or Left, but the Right side is colored differently (1/2 black & 1/2 clear) so you know which is which.
I sit at a desk all day & am not moving around a lot. The buds will lose their seal quite often - & I've tried ALL the sizes & types of sleeves. I have to keep shoving the buds into my ears all day long. Then I can't hear anything else, like a co-worker calling my name. I don't know how I would be able to use this if I was jogging or exercising.
I guess if I were on a plane wanting to block out EVERYTHING (well, DUH, these are ISOLATING EARPHONES), these would be OK. However, if I want to listen to music (WITH THE BASS) & need to hear something else (like a fire alarm or my boss or my phone) these aren't the earphones for me.
Digital camera Review: Amazing - If you use some effort reading the manual Summary: 5 Stars
I got these earphones for my 15th birthday, after some intense research. It seemed like a lot of people were finding that these buds were lacking low-range response (bass). It seemed to me though like the people with the bad reviews didn't exactly seem to know what they were talking about (or how to spell), so I trusted the more intelligent-sounding reviews, that said that you could only achieve the full potential of this product if it was properly fitted to your ear. I can't even describe what a dramatic difference this makes. It took me about 30 minutes to find a good configuration for myself (small foam tips), but before that as I listened I was starting to wonder if I had made a bad decision - there really was no bass at all. But a little effort can really make miracles happen... the sound quality of the Shure E2c's is amazing. The bass is responsive and defined, the mid-range is extremely life-like, and the treble is undistorted and clear. Although they were a little uncomfortable at first, with the buds so far in the ear canal, I soon adjusted to them. The sound isolation is magnificent. I conveniently did not hear my mom calling me to do chores. Even though I didn't pay for these myself, they are definitely worth the 75-100$ cost. Also a great gift.
Digital camera Review: Amazing Pieces of Work Summary: 5 Stars
Upon reading reviews and the recommendations of several people I finally sprung for a pair of these. What is amazing is the clarity of the sound produced. Earlier I had been using cheap Koss Plug earbuds. The mid and high range sounds were far superior as one would expect. The bass was crisp and clear, although admittedly I was one who preferred louder thumping bass versus quality bass. The bass is good at its level; it just took some getting used to for someone who had become accustomed to the dirty bass normally heard.
One thing to be forewarned about is the initial experience of wearing the earbuds. The pressure was causing a great amount of discomfort the first few minutes or so while wearing them.
The other thing is to make sure the earbuds fit. Make sure you try out different foam/flexsleeve combinations and find one that works well.
Digital camera Review: Amazing Sound from Tiny Speakers Summary: 5 Stars
Before buying these I did a fair amount of research. From what I learned, people either loved or hated them, and I believe I know why. I'm sure I'm not the first to mention the fact that sure, these won't sound great if not used properly, but why buy them if you can't take the time to learn how they work. I found minimal results from the silicone or flex inserts. The medium orange foam did the job and I can't say I've heard larger over-the-ear or ear-covering DJ style headphones sound this amazing. The sound quality is unbelievable and they block out almost all other noises. I use them at work and while traveling to block out all the mess of the world. They are responsible for my increased productivity as they minimize any distraction. When connected to my MP3 (ATRAC3) player they work great, reproducing the sound without any trouble and only at 1/3 to half volume. I cannot speak highly enough of these ear phones, do yourself a service and pick up a pair, you won't regret the money well spent.
Digital camera Review: Amazing design Summary: 4 Stars
without a doubt, this is an innovative design, I could never have thought of fitting in a earpiece like that. That said, it is not easy to fit in, I am quite confused and require a mirror to place it in.
its sound is great, blocks out so much noise that the music is just great, people have to shout at you for you to hear, think earplug+earphone.
Can't use it for exercise. You will hear your steps and your pounding heart. Just like when you use earplug and you can hear your heartbeat.
all said, if you use it exclusively to ignore other people, it's great. :) saw it on sale at amazon, referred by WhoSave coom (list online electronics sale). Good price, good value.
