Digital camera reviews of Shure E2c Sound Isolating Earphones

Digital camera Review: At last! Brilliant sound...
Summary: 5 Stars

You won't regret purchasing these premium quality earphones. I had been using the Sony sound-isolating one's (where the cord fell apart every few months), and gave up, spent the extra money on this wonderful set.

I couldn't be happier. The advertising on this set is true - you really do 'hear sounds you've never heard before'.

I agree with all other 5 star comments - sound, comfort, durability, it's all here. The sound is so crisp, and the bass levels were fine for me (strong, dependent on your equalizer).

A piece of advice: if you are going to use these for an iPod or MP3 device, the sound will be amazing, but not as good as it could be with CD quality source music. Just bear that in mind!

Digital camera Review: Audio Bliss
Summary: 5 Stars

I was previously using a cheap pair of ear buds which were a bit too big for my small ears and would leave my ears feeling sore. I was hesitant to purchase these because of the price tag, but after just two weeks, I feel the price well worth it. I've found the sound quality to be excellent - I mainly listen to country, various types of rock, and classical. I have the volume level at the lowest level on my handheld and it is more than sufficient to both hear the music clearly and block out most background noise. I was worried it would work too well blocking noise out, but I feel safe wearing them when I am walking as I can still hear enough of the traffic noise with the volume turned down to remain aware of my surroundings. I suffer from tinnitus and noise sensitivity, but I haven't had any problems with these earphones (so far.) I was also concerned that even the "small" fitting would be too big for my ears, but they're a perfect fit. I tried the small foam fitting but didn't care for that at all. I keep my ears pretty clean, so I haven't had any trouble in regards to ear wax. That's a total non-issue to me. I would highly recommend these ear phones and believe they are well worth the money. I hope to be using these many years from now.

Digital camera Review: Awesome headphones!
Summary: 5 Stars

Great set of noise isolation headphones. I have been using them for about four months now. I use them mostly in my dorm when I need to study and concentrate. I can't even hear people talking to me from the door or my room! I also used them on a 7 hour international flight. It is a wonder how much sound they block out, even when you don't have music playing.

The multiple kinds and sizes of sleeves are great. I like the soft black plastic ones. Kind of hard to find the right size at first, but you will be able to tell after a while which one sits them best in your ears. Do keep in mind that your ear canals may be two different sizes....

Enjoy them, I know i do. The case is solid and I haven't had a problem yet.

Digital camera Review: Awesome noise-cancelling, pretty good sound
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought these headphones because I had two major requirements: something compact that could be shoved in my pocket, and something that could block out all of the annoying people on my carpool. These headphones excel on both points.

The noise-canceling of these headphones is amazing. I used to use airplane-style noise cancelers, but those are designed to weed out repetitive frequencies, such as airplane engines. The guy talking about Real Madrid's prospects without Beckham, however, you still heard loud and clear without pumping up your volume to boombox levels.

These plugs actually sit in your ear canal. Even when my ipod battery has died, I can still pop these in and cancel out 80% of the ambient noise. Even at high volume, no one around can hear what you're playing unless you take them out of your ears. I play my music at about 60% volume, and at that level I'm literally unable to hear things people are saying directly to me. It's heaven.

The only downside is that you're actually sticking it in your ear. Your morning commute might be a little weird if your ears are still wet from the shower, and wax does accumulate on the covers, so you'll need to clean them periodically. It took me a while to get used to actually popping something in my ear, but after about a week it was fine. The variety of covers these things come with is great; I was able to test a few different ones to get the ones that were most comfortable for me (the smallest rubber ones).

The speaker is tiny, though, so don't expect Bose-quality lows or anything. That said, they are reasonably good for what you're getting, and I'll definitely buy another pair when I lose or trash these.

Digital camera Review: Awesome sound
Summary: 4 Stars

I upgrade from a pair of Sony EX51LP and found the Shure's to be fantastic and well worth the pricetag. The sound isolation works so well (I get a good fit with the foam earpieces) that I've been able to lower the volume of my MP3 player from 21 (it goes up to 25) down to 13 or 14 when riding the bus.

They seem very solidly built, come with a nice case, and there's a variety of earpieces you can try to get the best fit.

The only downside is that to get a good fit they need to be tight and that can get uncomfortable. Otherwise this would easily have been a 5 star product.
