Digital camera reviews of Shure E2c-n Sound Isolating Earphones (Black)

Digital camera Review: A big, fat disappointment
Summary: 2 Stars

The Shure name meant a lot to me and I had counted on good sound quality. Perhaps that is why these ear buds were such a disappointment. The sound seems flat (and I don't mean just the bass). When I tested them alongside some $12 earbuds, they did not stack up. I was looking for some clear separation of music and instruments and I did not find it with these. Perhaps for speech they will be OK, but that is not saying much for some $70 earphones. Likewise, getting them to stay in your ears is a chore, requiring fitting and refitting of the rubber cups. My advice: look elsewhere.

Digital camera Review: After much research, I am quite happy.
Summary: 4 Stars

I spent A LOT of time looking around and reading reviews of earbuds. I even bought other earphones and returned them without opening the plastic. I ended up deciding that I would take the "risk" of trying these earbuds out. The first half hour I was experimenting with them--the different earpieces, different iTunes settings and even the little earwax blockers. I wasn't impressed at first.--the bass was (expectedly, because of the other reviews) not great. I stuck it through though and ended up changing the ear pieces again after about a week. Within that time, the bass matured (as has been discussed in previous reviews). It is a clear sound--the bass isn't over powering, but it is definitely present and strong. In addition, other tones, like the mids, come out of music that I had not noticed before. The sound is very rich. I truly believe that those who had problems with this product did not take a couple minutes at first to try the different ear pieces out and give the buds some time to mature. I now prefer to listen to music through these instead of stereo speakers when I am working. Give these earbuds a shot. I think that you will be happy with your purchase. I am definitely considering shelling out the extra dollars to upgrade in a couple years to try out the higher models.

Digital camera Review: Amazing 5 Stars

These are my second set of Shure headphones and I was greatly pleased with my first pair but they broke at fault of myself. I got these headphones and what pleased as soon as I opened the packaging. They look and sound great. Once you get them set right in your ear, they have a great balance of highs, mids, and lows. I have recommended these headphones to many of my friends already.

Digital camera Review: Amazing Sound Quality and Accessories
Summary: 5 Stars

Fantastic headphones. I switched to these after my Sony MDR-EX51LP headphones died after only 9 months!

Pros:
-Sound quality is much better. This is probably due to the higher quality of the phones and the better (in-ear) seal made by the phones. Bass and mid-range are a lot richer with these headphones.
-Cords are thicker than the Sonys and the cords tangle less. The actual earpieces feel stronger too.
-Lots of extra ear plugs (even professional-style foam ones). I went with the black softer rubber. Nice to have options.
-Carrying case is nice. I don't use it, but would if I travelled more. For now, I keep the extra ear plugs in there.
-Warranty -- I believe these have a 2-3 year (Sony had 90 days!).

Cons:
-Cord-behind-the-ear style is a little hard to get used to. I've tried other ways, but this seems to be the best way to keep them in you ears.
-Differentiating between the left and right headphones is not very simple. You have to consult the manual to see that the darker one is right and the clear one is left. Very difficult to figure out in the dark!

These cons are more minor things that irk me than product flaws. Overall, great product!

Digital camera Review: Amost perfect...
Summary: 4 Stars

I purchased these headphones after reading another reviewer's comments. She was a medical transcriptionist, as am I, and her very positive review prompted my own purchase. I have to say that they really do isolate outside noise. You really can work undisturbed and oblivious to almost all outside noise. That's the good part... the only critisism I have, and I do realize that it is the nature of the beast and NOT the fault of these headphones per se, but they are quite awkward to put on and take off, especially if, like me, you transcribe in a hospital and people need to ask you questions or if you need to be able to hear announcements, etc. If you can sit undisturbed, THESE ARE GREAT! But if you will need to take them on and off a few times, well, that's a pain. So, depending on your personal use, I would say that overall, these are very excellent for their sound isolation and even seem to amplify whatever you are listening to.
