Digital camera reviews of Shure E2c-n Sound Isolating Earphones (Black)

Digital camera Review: Comfortable but seems to lack bass
Summary: 4 Stars

Unit fits comfortably into my ear. Had to experiment with the provided 'sleeves' to find the best fit. Capable noise canceling (I am comparing with Bose and other similar active headsets). Sound reproduction is good ... Highs and mid notes are heard clearly. However, not so sure of the bass. Bear in mind that I am NOT a loud, disco-style boom-boom bass lover. I am more keen on 'feeling' the low notes and am looking for some depth, especially on the piano, cello/strings etc. That's been missing from my listening experience. Dunno if I'm doing something wrong and my comments are misplaced. Doesn't seem to be that way, though.

Digital camera Review: Consumers Beware!
Summary: 1 Stars

I have owned two pairs of these headphones in the past year in a half. The reason I have owned two is because the first pair stop functioning after 9 months and now, 5 months later after shure sent me a new pair of e2cs, the second pair has broken in the same exact fashion. Bad luck i thought, but after talking with two of my friends, owners of shure e2c's who experienced the same exact problem I did, I am convinced that the e2c design is fatally flawed. If you buy these headphones, you will experience the pristine and great sound quality that everyone raves about but only for 7-10 months before the right earbud stops functioning rendering your e2cs useless. I can only surmise that the reason there are not too many people complaining of the same problem is that people who do write reviews on amazon write them within 1-3 months of owning the product so when their product does break, they do not take the time to post or write about it online. Well, after my second pair e2c's broke and after consulting with my friends about the same problem, consumers have a right to know that Shure is distributing a faulty product. I really hope this email is an impetus for the people at Shure to finally redesign their earbuds and stop tarnishing their name with the e2cs. Thank you - rock on

Digital camera Review: Could be the right headphones for the right person. I wasn't that person.
Summary: 2 Stars

If you are looking for good sound isolating earphones and you have small ear canals then I recommend getting the Shure E4c-n instead of the E2c-n. Even though there were many different tips to use on this model none of them fit my ears correctly.

I had the Etymotic brand of earphones before which worked really well with my ears. They were small, fit tightly in my ear canals, and used flange tips. They broke after a year which is why I was in the market for a new pair.

Would I have liked the E2c-n's better if they were able to use the flange tips? Very doubtful. They are very bulky and, since I could never quite get a good fit or tight seal, caused my outer ear to ache after wearing them for about an hour.

After trying this pair for a couple of weeks I returned them and purchased the Shure E4c-n. I've had them for over a month now and they have worked out great.

Digital camera Review: Crispy
Summary: 4 Stars

This product is awesome. Simple to use and not a showy product. I love it. Crisp sound. Highly recommend.

Digital camera Review: Definitely worth the little extra dough
Summary: 4 Stars

If you appreciate music enough to listen to it, then you will be doing yourself a favor by forking over just a few more dollars for this earphone upgrade. MILES ahead of those regular iPod buds. Plus they're black and honestly you're less likely to get mugged just for that reason. The feeling and fit take a little getting used to but it works wonders on the crowded, noisy El in Chicago. I can actually hear speech on my podcasts now. And it feels like musicians are sitting right on your ear playing those dulcid tunes. If you are not a complete audiophile these will be fine. The E3Cs and such maybe sound better I don't know but these sound wonderful.
