Digital camera Review: Don't believe the hype

After reading all the rave reviews for these I thought I just had to have them. When they arrived I anxiously tore the package open expecting to hear a big difference in sound. What I found was an awkwardly big earbud sleve that was a very stiff rubber (almost plasticy)They did not feel right in my ears at all, and the sound was lacking. Maybe it's just my ears but I find that the original gray rubber sleves that my e3s came with is far superior to these in both comfort and sound.Digital camera Review: Excellent Ear Buds

I use the EC3 ear buds with the triple flange sleeves in my shop and at work. I'm a pipefitter prefabricating stainless steel tubing and they cut out almost all of the shop noise. I can listen to my ipod at much lower sound levels so it makes my day much more enjoyable and my ears seem less stressed. I own a pair of SE530's and I've been playing around with all the different Shure sleeves. I have found these to be the best all around fit. When I first tried these they were just WAY to big... felt like they were tickling my eardrums so I put them to the side and tried out the other sleeves for a few weeks. I wasn't satisfied with the single rubber flanges so I then went to the black foam ones. They were okay but I decided to crack open the package again and give these another shot except this time I grabbed some scissors and trimmed down the sleeve part. After experimenting with a few snips of the scissor, I found the perfect size and all I can say is WOW! They fit perfectly and feel rock solid in my ears. Forget about falling out... I can dive off the Empire State and they'll still be in my ears when they pick up the pieces. You can also forget about having a conversation with anyone when you have these on so use an inline mic or learn sign language.
Don't make the same mistake I did and just stick them in and rip 'em right out... buy the package of 3 and start cutting to get the right fit. The other reviewers who were complaining about the fit didn't take Shures advice and trim them to fit their ears. Give 'em a shot... You might be surprised as well!

I was looking for replacement triple flange eartips for my Monster Turbine Pro in-ear speakers and mistakeningly thought these would work. Although they look like the ones that came on the Turbines, they will not work.
