Digital camera Review: Good and bad Summary: 4 Stars
I actually dont like landscapes at 10mm. The distortion at this length makes the center of the frame so distant that it seems too far away. That being said, some people like this style. I still prefer 14-18mm on a DX body, which brings other lenses into the equation.
You can, however, get some neat angles on up close subjects at 10mm which is fun. Also, the image quality of this Sigma is pretty good as well (a bit soft outside of center focus though).
Digital camera Review: Good lens but broke Summary: 3 Stars
It's a good lens, not fast but good image and ver y little distortion, 10mm is amazing !
But after 4 months of little use the autofocus stoped working, which is not a major problem because manual focusing is OK un such a wide angle ...
Digital camera Review: Good motion, solid construction, vignetting at 10mm, list of hyperfocal distances. Summary: 5 Stars
I've been using this lens for a few months without any major complaints. It can evidence vignetting at 10mm, which becomes more pronounced when you add a 77mm polarizing filter. The physical motion is superb and it's a solid lens. It's missing obvious hyperfocal markings, but you can use the focal length and distance marks to get accurate hyperfocus anyways. I hope this helps others who use this lens.
Hyperfocal lens settings (partial list):
10mm: f/5 @ 1m
10mm: f/11 @ 1.5ft
12mm: f/8 @ 3ft
12mm: f/16 @ 1.5ft
14mm: f/10 @ 1m
14mm: f/25 @ 0.4m
17mm: f/16 @ 3ft
20mm: f/22 @ 3ft
Digital camera Review: Got exactly what I wanted Summary: 5 Stars
When I bought this lens, I got exactly what I expected. It's a third party brand so I expected it to have distortion at 10mm. The ONLY thing that I notice is that somewhat bugs me is that there is no AF/M switch and that the lens hood comes off very easily. Other than that, I'm loving the lens even though it's at 4-5.6 instead of 2.8! Worth paying for the price it sells for!
