Digital camera reviews of Skullcandy INK'D Earbuds (Dark Grey)

Digital camera Review: Great Ear Plugs
Summary: 4 Stars

Skullcandy INK'D Earbuds do what they advertise, they truly block out all other sound except for what is being fed through them. Recommend for anyone who wears ear plugs.

Digital camera Review: Great Earbuds
Summary: 5 Stars

These are great. Sounds great. It does pick up some unnecessary sound, but that's no big deal

Digital camera Review: Great Headphones for a low price
Summary: 5 Stars

Technology in headphones has come so far, that there is little wiggle room left differentiating a $500 dollar pair of headphones from a $15 dollar pair. With my everyday wear and tare on on headphones, they end up lasting me about a year. Why not get great sounding, comfortable, cheap headphones, and buy a new pair when needed? 5 stars here!

Digital camera Review: Great Sound and excellent value--but not for everyone
Summary: 5 Stars

The Skull Candy INK'D earphones provide significantly better sound quality than the standard ipod earphones, and they represent an excellent value--but they are not for everyone.

These earphones are designed to fit snugly inside the user's ear canals. They will not be satisfactory for people who are uncomfortable inserting earphones into their ear canals. They will also not be satisfactory to anyone who cannot get a snug or comfortable fit with one of the three pairs of earphone covers that come with the INK'D.

The medium-sized earphone covers were quite comfortable in my ears. I looped the cord over my ears and adjusted the Y-cable slide to fit snugly against the back of my head. I had no problem with them falling out as I operated my exercise bike and as I moved about in my house.

I switched back and forth between standard Apple earphones, INK'D earphones, and a pair of Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 EB earphones. On a wide variety of music styles, the sound quality of the INK'D earphones was far better than the Apple earphones.

The Ultimate Ears sounded better than the INK'D phones, but they cost more than 10 times as much as the INK'D phones. I probably would have heard a bigger difference if I had hooked them up to a high-end sound source, but given the limits of the MP3 format, I wasn't able to hear enough of a difference to justify the price of the Ultimate Ears.

At $10, the INK'D phones are a cost-effective upgrade for your MP3 player.

Digital camera Review: Great after a couple of workarounds.
Summary: 4 Stars

I was looking for a good set of noise canceling headphones for working out and jogging around my neighborhood. These do cancel outside noise as well as you could imagine. The problem was with the noise the cord made from slapping against my body while I was running and from just the general vibration from my foot hitting the pavement.

To take care of this I did 2 things:

1. Tied up the slack in a black twist tie near my mp3 player. I left a little excess for step 2.

2. Used scotch tape to attach the cord to my shirt. (It doesn't look as dorky as it sounds) I made sure to leave just enough slack to still be able to move my head left and right.

These 2 things really cut down on the cord's noise. With a 10 dollar price tag, it was well worth it for me to have to fiddle a little with the cord.

Oh yeah, the sound itself is fantastic. I can finally hear bass drums in all of the songs. That's hard to get with a lot of headphones.
