Digital camera Review: A great deal for *Pocket* phones.
Summary: 4 Stars
Need a portable set of phones that block out external noise, and don't disturb people close-by? That are easy to find at retail outlets when you find yourself without a pair, and cheap enough to warrant having multiple pairs? That you can stash in a pocket easily, and are unobtrusive when in use? And of course they need to sound reasonably good. I have a small assortment of *audiophile* phones (Grado SR 80, AKG 501 and K240 studio), but for listening at work and at the supermarket, I have found these little buds quite satisfactory. Not everyone will be comfortable with the *jam 'em in your ears* style of these phones, but at this price, you aren't risking much to see how well you tolerate them. I have had similarly designed Sony phones that were too trebly for me (had to use the EQ on my iPod to make them listenable) and that didn't fit my ears as well. If you plan on running and / or eating crunchy foods while listening to music, these may not be the phones for you, as there is a fair amount of mechanical noise from the cord. Not an issue for me. The one pet peeve I have with these phones is they don't appear to be marked Left and Right. I might be missing something, but I've resorted to marking them myself, after determining which ear is which. They don't sound as good as my wife's Koss KSC75s, but they block out external noise better, are easier to stash in my pockets, and easier to put on and take off. I also prefer them to Koss Sparkplugs, which are too muddy sounding, and also didn't stay in my ears as well.
