Digital camera Review: First earbuds that don't hurt my ears
Summary: 4 Stars

I had given up with earbuds altogether. Owing I guess to small ears, earbuds were simply painful to wear. I could handle about 20 minutes of music before I had to simply quit - they literally made my ears ache. The standard ipod ones were some of the worst. Skullcandy's Smokin' Buds to the rescue. Using the smallest of the rubber adapters provided, I found I could comfortably wear them for long periods without any discomfort. They fit nicely in my ear canal, provide a good seal that emliminates a great deal of ambient noise, and overall sound good. They are stylish and very compact. There are only two drawbacks - the cord and the bass. The cord is flat and very light, like a rubber linguine noodle, and it has a tendency to be springy and can sometimes rub against your face or bunch up. It's simply not heavy enough to fall like a standard cord. It's a very minor issue however and I supposed the upside is that there's less weight on your ears. The real and only significant problem is the lack of bass. Even for earbuds the bass on these is pretty lacking. I compensated a bit by changing the equalizer settings on my ipod, but don't expect deep base. Still, these earbuds are a Godsend for someone like me that wanted to enjoy the ease of using compact earbuds like everyone else. I would definitely purchase them again and highly recommend the product.

Digital camera Review: Fit decently...until they broke a week after buying.
Summary: 1 Stars

I did the stupid thing bu going with flashiness over substance, and I payed the price for it. As with most Skullcandy stuff, you'll get a lot of pizzazz and not too much else. This pair of headphones seemed to fit my funny-shaped ears pretty well out of the box, but as soon as I put them onto my iPod they were terrible. The bass was overbearing to the max and the mids and highs were terribly out of whack - just imagine one of those OG Cadillacs with the window-rattling, bowel-shaking subs in the back that disturbs your peace, terrifies your cats, breaks all of your fine china and leaves you with cracks in your foundation - it's kinda like that. Moreover, the cord is extraordinarily short, and broke while I was attempting to *gasp* move. The slightest jerk broke the input from the cord, thus completing the pathetic circle that was my final experience with Skullcandy. If you only care about looks and tons of obnoxious, noxious bass, get these...all of your soon-to-be-deaf friends will go out and buy them because they're "OMFG so awesome!" If you really care about your listening quality and want buds that last more than, say, four days, buy something else, anything else!

Digital camera Review: Good Stuff
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought these after being unhappy with a different vendors product and thought they were the best sounding ear buds I had ever bought. I love how comfortable they are in my ears. I did not have any trouble with them falling out and recommended them to my wife as well. If your looking for great sound at a reasonable price these are the best I have found.

Digital camera Review: Good but not great
Summary: 3 Stars

These earphones are an improvement over original equipment earphones included with ipods and other MP3 players, but in Ink'd phones from Skull Candy cost less and sound much better.

Digital camera Review: Good packaging can't make up for awful sound quality
Summary: 1 Stars

I admit, I've only had these buds for a couple of days. Immediately when I put them in I could hear how awful the sound quality was, the low end sounds muted, the high end is tinny, the mids aren't bad. Maybe if you listen to music that doesn't have much low end these would work well for you. Even playing around with the equalization didn't help them out.

I've had them plugged into my laptop for about 16 hours at this point, playing music through them trying to see if they need a little breaking in. So far it hasn't done much for them.

About the only thing good I have to say is that they've felt pretty comfortable and they have a nice long cord (I'm really tall and most cords are too short), and they seem to block out a good amount of noise.

There are probably better ear buds in this price range, stay away from these.
