Digital camera Review: Great product--horrible customer support

If you're having trouble getting the box configured, don't give up hope. It can be done, and once it's working, it's brain-dead easy to use, and works like a charm. Unfortunately, the customer support folks don't seem to have ever actually attempted to set up the box to be able to figure out what the challenges are. Two simple hints: first, make sure the computer you're using to configure the box is actually plugged into the same router during the configuration (you can run the viewing software wirelessly once you have it up and running, but the box doesn't seem to want to allow an unwired configuration). Second, after you get it set up, if you're having trouble connecting from within your home network, try to connect as if you were out of your network (i.e., use the public ip address that your isp provides you). I still can't connect to the box using the box's physical address, but if I use the external ip address of my router everything works fine.
Having said that, it's totally awesome to be able to watch tv anywhere--I'll never miss Jon Stewart again because the hotel doesn't have Comedy Central, and I don't have to watch the CNN feed while I'm sitting in the airport :). It's truly a miraculous device--I only hope they can get their tech support folks a little more interested in figuring out how the thing actually works, and supporting their users. But in the end, it's worth the hassle.
