Digital camera reviews of Sling Media Slingbox PRO-HD SB300-100Digital camera Review: Awesome Summary: 5 Stars
We are completely enamored with our new Slingbox. With as much as we travel, we were missing a lot of our local sports broadcasts as well as not taking advantage of our significant count of movie channels. Now, we can take full advantage of them wherever we go, including over 3G!

The Slingbox is my new favorite toy... There was a problem with the Ethernet connection but Amazon shipped me out a new one right away and haven't had a problem yet... I recommend this product to anyone that enjoys TV as much as I do...
Digital camera Review: Be careful if you plan to purchase! Summary: 3 Stars
This product was purchased with a traveling family in mind. It is an awesome piece of technology that does what its claims - IF it is set up correctly.
WARNING! You must be a confident technologically-proficent individual to self-install this equipment. Otherwise, get an installation expert to do it for you!
Smug and confident individuals might scuff at the booklet install directions. Too easy. Anyone can do it. Nevertheless, if you do not understand the intricacies of your home TV center and wiring you are likely to install incorrectly.
Most home video centers utilize anywhere from 3 to 4 pieces of equipment, all of which are interconnected. The Slingbox needs to connect smoothly with these as well as your broadband Internet connection.
Recommendation: Buy this at Best Buy or other audio/visual store that offers installation. Or, you'd better be a self-confident techie.

This product is a good idea gone into the wrong hands. This product is cool, it seems to work okay, but if you need help setting it up watch yourself. The product they sold me was "apparently" refurbished, but I paid full price (case pending with BBB). Why does this matter? Because they claim to provide 90 days of free support, but if your product is refurbished, then it was registered a year ago.
Then the company tries to get you to PAY for SUPPORT - $29 per incident or $50 for 2 years support.
AN OBVIOUS SCAM. Don't do it.
Save all your receipts, transaction records and prove you bought it when you did and thought you were buying a new one.
I'm waiting to get a refund from these guys on the difference between a new product (which I paid for) and a REFURBISHED product which they claim I have (not so sure about that either).
Digital camera Review: Beats Paying Cable Summary: 5 Stars
First off, I've been a user of the slingbox for almost two years, have two pro hd's and also have the Sony Locationfree device. Locationfree uses the same technology as Slingmedia except sling's technology is more refined. The location free using the same location, internet, and everything else, constantly skips and pauses when watching for long periods. The slingbox, however, doesn't do that as often. My internet speeds from the slingbox location is usually 1mb up, 5-8mb down. The place where I usually sling is 3mb down, .7 up. Very decent quality on a 26" flat screen.
Warranty/Customer Service
I suggest anyone who will depend on watching slingbox as your primary means of TV to get the extended warranty. Many are confusing the 90 day warranty with the actual 1 year warranty. The warranty is 1 year. The customer support is 90 days. The customer service, however is not as great at times but once you confuse them, they usually will give you what you want. If not, hang up and call another person. I've called them for support after the 90 day period and just told them there were problems with it. They exchanged it for me without a problem. This was for a slingcatcher though, but I don't see a problem when asking for a slingbox pro hd. If it does break after the warranty period, they offer a replacement for $150. BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY!
Overall impression
This thing is the best. I have two, purchased the extended warranty, and supposedly, I can apply it to any of the pro hd's I have. Cable cost nearly $100 dollars per month. Internet cost less way less.
